Former WWE star Ashley Massaro's death rocked the wrestling world and shocked those closest to the 39-year-old, including her only daughter who made a heartbreaking statement.

Massaro's 19-year-old daughter, Alexa, took to social media in the hours after it was reported her mother had died, and said, "I love you Mommy I want to wake up in your arms more than anything I want to give u a big hug please come back this cant be real."

Alexa included a photo of the two and admitted, "I wish I could have gotten more recent pictures." The mother and daughter appeared to be very close, and Massaro had posted last year about Alexa turning 18-years-old.

"I know the closeness we share will never change no matter how old she gets," Massaro wrote, adding, "I truly love her more than any thing or anyone in this world!"

As we reported, the wrestler turned radio host died of an apparent suicide after being discovered at her home in New York. She was transported to the hospital and CPR was administered, but unfortunately she passed away.

Police are describing the death as "non-criminal," and her body is currently at the Suffolk County Medical Examiner.

Massaro was also involved with an ongoing lawsuit against the WWE, where she, and many other wrestlers, accused the wrestling organization of failing to properly protect employees from repeated head trauma and concussions that eventually developed in long-term brain damage.
