Keith Lee Announces 'Redemption Food Tour' Kicking Off In Atlanta

The Keith Lee and Family Four Tour is taking a new approach!

After visiting ten states on the food tour in 2023, Lee is about to revisit them with a "new and improved system."

The popular food critic has visited three cities so far in 2024 on his food tour but he is about to change up the system.

"We decided as a family, we're gonna do a redemption tour," he said to start off his announcement on TikTok. "Last year, we went to about 10 states on a family food tour. This year, we went to about three so far. And we discussed as a family that it's only right to do a redemption tour, because the states we did this year were different rules, different categories and different structures."

To be fair, Lee said they are going to "start at the bottom of the list," which means Atlanta will be their first stop on the new tour.

"This is a redemption tour. It's separate from the food tour, meaning, we're not doing a revisit. Meaning, we're not going to the same spots that we went to last time," he explained. "This is a completely fresh slate. Clean slate."

For the "Redemption Food Tour," Lee will be visiting restaurants he didn't visit the last time around and will use new categories in his reviews.

"We're going to mom-and-pop spots. We're going to popular spots voted on by y'all on my IG Story," he continued. "And spots from different ethnicities and different cultures."

He also revealed that this time around, "we will be protected." The family will have "people with us that are legal and licensed."

"We don't wanna have to use them, but we will," he reiterated. "My family is getting home safe, and I mean that with every bone in my body."

When Lee and his family traveled to Atlanta in October, things were quite eventful. His time there was unlike any other city he's visited.

"This week has been insane," he said in a recap video after his time touring Atlanta. "This is a recap of everything that's happened this week. The good and the not so good."

Lee then explained some of the craziness he was met with while in Atlanta. He shared the timeline of the places he visited and how the visits went, as well as some drama that happened at one particular place.

"They said it was a two-and-a-half hour wait time. We said, 'Okay, we're gonna go somewhere else.' While we walked out, the entire staff walked out behind us. They attempted to implore us to stay and said that we can sit down immediately," he explained. "Again, I'm not the target audience for that."

His video also shared other drama in Atlanta, as well as some of the blessings that happened.

While word of Lee's Atlanta drama was circulating, rapper Cardi B caught wind of it and stuck up for Lee during one of her live streams.

"I always find this, eating in Atlanta, it is such an event," she said. "You could barely order in Atlanta restaurants."

She continued to explain how hard it is to order food in Atlanta and that many establishments don't do take-out orders.

Many viewers dropped into the comments to chat about the interesting differences in the Atlanta food scene.

"I would not survive in Atlanta. I need a place where I can just get food. A girl gets hangry," one person wrote. Another commented, "Keith literally had the whole country talking about Atlanta."

While Cardi may not have been aware of Lee's reviews until the Atlanta debacle, she certainly knows of him now.

The two recently partnered to do not one, but two, review videos. The unique collaboration had the two trying out Easy Street Burger in L.A. and making and trying Buldak Carbonara Ramen Noodles.

Both videos quickly went viral with millions of views and thousands of comments.

"The collab we didn’t know we needed," one viewer shared in the comments of one of the videos.

Another person asked, "Keith and Cardi?!?! In the same TikTok?!? I did not have this on my 2024 bingo card, but I LOVE IT!!!"
