Former Disney Channel actress Christy Carlson Romano is talking about her days on Broadway, and recalls her one co-star as a "naughty beast."
Romano, who is known for providing her voice to Kim Possible and for her role in 'Even Stevens', had 'That's So Raven' star Anneliese van der Pol on her podcast, and the two discussed their Broadway days.
Christy Carlson Romano Recalls Her Time In 'Beauty And The Beast'
Steve Blanchard is a stage actor and singer, best known for his musical theater roles. One of his biggest roles was The Beast in the musical 'Beauty and the Beast', which he played on Broadway for eight years.
Romano starred alongside Blanchard when she took on the role of Belle, and she recalls him being a "naughty beast."
"If the walls in his dressing room could talk," Romano told van der Pol, "that was a naughty beast." To which van der Pol responded, "I know, so naughty."
Although neither went into detail about what "naughty beast" really meant, Romano did say they need to have an episode all about "Broadway gossip." We are on the edge of our seats waiting for that to drop...
Anneliese van der Pol also told a story about Blanchard and his influence of drinking alcohol during their shows.

The 'That's So Raven' actress then went on to recall her Broadway days, admitting she was nervous in her first few shows, to which Blanchard told her, "You know what you gotta do? A little hair of the dog."
So she asked him, "Like before or after the show? Like when?" and he told her "at intermission." At first, she laughed, but one day she decided to try it, and she took a shot of Blanchard's alcohol.
Romano then revealed he used to take cast and crew to strip clubs.
Anneliese van der Pol Reveals What She Would Tell Her Younger Self
When sitting down with Romano, van der Pol opened up and reflected back on her Disney Channel days, which included "hooking up with [her] fair share" of guys, but she wishes she could have told herself "Don't hook up with somebody just because they want to hook up with you."
"I don't know why young girls do that. We think we're powerful. We think 'oh if we get that exception' or some guy is s-xually attracted to you, and you give them what they want that somehow you're more adult. You're more powerful. You're more of a woman," she said, "and I definitely would have told myself not to do that so much."
"Older guys, people behind the scenes on 'That's So Raven', people who I just never should have [hooked up with]," she admitted.
Romano then chimed in, admitting that her mom warned her when she turned 18 people would start treating her differently and people would start hitting on her, and they did.
Anneliese van der Pol Wants Disney To Take Responsibility
Whenever someone asks "how it is working for Disney," the actresses say they ask in a judgmental way. "What do you think they did to us?" van der Pol said.
She did go on to admit, "I am waiting for them to take some sort of responsibility or at least address it and talk about really what happens to child actors. I mean I can go on, Demi Lovato, Amanda Bynes, Lindsay Lohan, myself, Orlando [Brown]."
As you know, all of these actors and actresses struggled with alcohol, drugs, and legal trouble following their time on Nickelodeon and Disney Channel. Demi Lovato became addicted to crack cocaine and heroin. “I couldn’t go 30 minutes to an hour without cocaine, and I would bring it on airplanes,” Lovato told The Huffington Post. “I would smuggle it basically and just wait until everyone in first class would go to sleep, and I would do it right there.”
Anneliese van der Pol was arrested on July 10, 2006 after colliding with a parked car. She had a .19 blood-alcohol level.
She is now sober.
'Quiet On Set: The Dark Side Of Kids TV'
These videos and claims are resurfacing due to the popularity of ‘Quiet On Set: The Dark Side Of Kids TV’, which exposed Nickelodeon and former producer Dan Schneider for creating a toxic work environment and for being verbally abusive while on set.
Former Nickelodeon star Drake Bell also came forward and said he was a victim of s-xual abuse at the hands of voice coach Brian Peck.
