Scrolling on TikTok for any amount of time often brings about a video that starts out, "If your name is (insert name) and your spouse's name is (insert name) and he was at (insert location) on Saturday, I want you to know..."
That usually doesn't mean any good news is about to be spilled. But one recently shared video that starts off like that had a completely opposite vibe and viewers were excited to see something so positive go viral.
"If Your Name Is Sam," Listen Up!
"If your name is Sam and your fiancé's name is Luke, and he is currently in Charleston, SC for his bachelor party, and he was at a bar on King Street called Uptown Social tonight on Friday, March 22," Sam started her now viral video.
"I just want you to know that that man loves you so much, and he couldn't stop gushing about you and how you are the love of his life, and the most beautiful person he has ever met and how he's the luckiest man in the entire world."
That didn't go as many thought it would after hearing the opening line. Many of the more than 12 million viewers were bracing for another video that spills some hot tea that was about to end a relationship, not one that shares such a positive, feel-good moment.
"Finally Some Positivity"
Viewers were pleasantly surprised at the plot twist of this video since many thought it was clearly going in a different direction.
"At the beginning of this video, I was like 'OMG, not another one!' But thank God I stayed and this turned out to be a great one! So refreshing! Wishing Sam and Luke the absolute best!" one viewer shared in the comments.
Another person added, "The plot twist we DIDN’T expect! This makes us all smile."
One other viewer shared, "I was so concerned for the first five seconds. Love Sam and Luke!"
The Video Found Its Way To Sam!
It didn't take long for Luke's fiancée Sam to see the video. She actually saw the video while Luke was still away enjoying his bachelor party.
"That was literally the best thing to wake up to," she said in a viral video. "I haven't stopped smiling since my friend sent it to me when I woke up. He's the best. I'm very lucky."
Sam's response video quickly went viral with more than 10 million views and thousands of comments.
"When I saw the original at first, I was like 'oh no not another bad story' then I was like 'oh my gawd YAS love still exists' You are a very lucky lady," one person wrote.
Another viewer wanted to know, "Did your friend warn you that it was a good video? So many of these 'if you’re name is…' are not good so my anxiety woulda SPIKED."

And Then Luke Shared His Thoughts In A Video
Once Luke was home from his bachelor party trip, he also shared his thoughts in a video on his fiancée's page.
"I'm the Luke in that story. First off, shout out to this Sam (camera pans over to his fiancée). She's the best and I meant everything I said about her last Friday night," he said. "Second off, shout out to other Sam for making such a wonderful TikTok."
He explained how he met "other Sam" while at his bachelor party, saying the conversation began because she was using a digital camera.
Luke then revealed that he and Sam will be getting married on June 1 in Massachusetts.
A new friendship was clearly made with the sweet TikTok video. Sam dropped into the comments of Luke's video on his fiancée's TikTok page to say, "Kinda obsessed with you two. So happy my video found you!" The other Sam replied, "Obsessed with YOU SAM."
One viewer wrote, "Love social media when it spreads positivity. We need more of this. Congratulations to you both!!!!"
Luke Shared More Of The Story Offline
After the videos went viral, Luke shared more of the story off of TikTok.
"I definitely wanted to go to Charleston because it's more laid-back than Miami or Vegas. I had been there before to visit some of my friends who went to college there, so I knew it would be sunny," Luke told PEOPLE. "Plus, it's a direct flight for most of my groomsmen, which is also quite nice."
Luke and his friends were enjoying watching March Madness basketball at Uptown Social when they ran into Sam and her group of friends.
"We had planned the evening around watching the College of Charleston versus Alabama, March Madness game. My best man had been to Charleston for a bachelor party before, so that's also where part of the idea came from to go there, and he suggested the bar," he explained. "I really like to chat with people when I go out. I'm quite extroverted and when I'm in a good mood, surrounded by all my best friends in a warm place like Charleston, I get very, very chatty."
When Sam and her friends heard Luke was there for his bachelor party, they all congratulated him. That's when Luke started "gushing about how much he loved" his fiancée Sam.
"My friends and I all love love and romance so we just thought it was just the sweetest and most romantic thing ever, listening to him rave about his future wife," Sam told PEOPLE. "After we took the selfie, he went to the bathroom, and my group left the bar, but he seriously made our entire night, and we couldn't stop talking about how sweet it was."
That's when the idea of creating the TikTok video happened.
"I posted the video because I just wanted whoever Luke’s bride was to know just how loved she was and I can’t believe it actually got to her," Sam said.
