Former President Donald Trump has much to celebrate as a New York appeals court reduced his fraud bond to $175 million.
Trump, who recently lamented the potential seizure of his properties and assets, was also granted an extension to his deadline, allowing him more time to cover his bond.
Donald Trump's Bond Reduced From $454M To $175M
According to several reports, a New York appeals court has reduced the bond that ex-president Donald Trump must put up in response to his New York civil fraud trial brought against him by NY AG Letitia James.
Trump's bond was taken down from $454 million to $175 million. The billionaire has also been given a 10-day extension to find the money he needs for the bond.
In February, Judge Arthur Engoron ruled that the Republican frontrunner should be fined approximately $355 million for falsifying his business documents to increase the worth of his assets.
As the deadline for the payment drew near, the pressure caused Trump to go on a tantrum online, as he slammed the possibility of his properties being seized if he failed to pay the fine.
Donald Trump Slammed Judge Arthur Engoron And AG Letitia James
A few hours before the previous deadline, Trump took to his social media platform, Truth Social, to blast the New York judge and Attorney General involved in his civil fraud case.
"Why should a Crooked, highly political New York Judge, Arthur Engoron, working in concert and coordination with an even more Corrupt Attorney General, Letitia' Peekaboo' James, his Puppet Master, and the White House, be allowed to take away, and sell off, very successful properties and assets that took me years to zone, build and nurture into some of the best of their kind anywhere in the World - WHEN I HAVE DONE NOTHING WRONG!," Trump fumed.
He added that the fine was "ridiculous and completely unheard of" and was only imposed because they saw a "similar amount" in his bank account.
The 77-year-old further claimed that the money was meant for his re-election campaign, alleging that the imposition of the fine was a deliberate attempt to thwart his plans.
He continued, "I had intended to use much of that hard-earned money on running for president. They don't want me to do that—ELECTION INTERFERENCE!"
Donald Trump Pleaded With His MAGA Supporters To 'Chip In'
In a last-ditch attempt at securing the previous $454M bond and stopping his property from being seized, Trump made a desperate plea to his MAGA supporters to help him raise the money, claiming that what was happening to him was a "witch hunt."
The former president's plea, sent through his joint fundraising committee, encouraged supporters to donate $20.24 to $3,300 or more before the deadline.
In the message, the 77-year-old stated that New York Attorney General Leticia James was after his properties, specifically his Trump Tower.
Showing his dissatisfaction about the possibility of his property being seized, Trump said, "KEEP YOUR FILTHY HANDS OFF OF TRUMP TOWER!"
He claimed that his legal troubles were a "witch hunt" backed by President Joe Biden, though Biden has denied any involvement in Trump's legal issues.
"So before the day is over, I'm calling on ONE MILLION Pro-Trump patriots to chip in and say: STOP THE WITCH HUNT AGAINST PRESIDENT TRUMP!" the message to MAGA also read.
Donald Trump Soon To Be $3 Billion Richer
His legal troubles come amid a merger between Trump Media and Digital World Acquisition Corp. A majority of the shareholders reportedly approved the merger.
At current market levels, the former president's shares are valued at more than $3 billion, so he will own a significant portion of a publicly traded company.
When the merger is finalized, the company will be known as Trump Media & Technology Group and trade under the "DJT" ticker, which is Trump's initials.
Donald Trump Celebrates Winning Two Trophies At His Golf Club
The Republican presidential hopeful recently expressed his happiness after winning two golf trophies at his West Palm Beach golf club on Sunday.
Trump wrote on Truth Social: "It is my great honor to be at Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach tonight, AWARDS NIGHT, to receive THE CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP TROPHY & THE SENIOR CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP TROPHY. I WON BOTH!"
However, the ex-president's celebration was met with some ridicule from President Joe Biden, who took to X (formerly Twitter) to sarcastically "congratulate" Trump for winning two trophies at his own golf club.
Biden wrote, "Congratulations, Donald. Quite the accomplishment." Several other people mocked Trump, with some claiming that the billionaire has a tendency to "cheat" at golf.
