During a recent appearance on “Happy Sad Confused podcast,” Cavill expressed his discomfort with filming s-- scenes, criticizing their overuse in cinema as merely an “excuse to see people with less clothing on.”

Despite enduring such raunchy scenes in projects like "The Tudors" and "The Witcher," the actor revealed that he finds them “uncomfortable” and often unnecessary for the narrative.

However, he acknowledged that while intimate scenes can be “great” and sometimes enhance storytelling, he believes they are frequently misused and fail to contribute meaningfully to the overall movie.

The “Justice League” star emphasized that the human imagination would “trump” over explicit visuals on screen.

During the podcast appearance, Cavill further noted that the s-- scenes are overused and sometime add nothing to the film.

Cavil continued: “I think sometimes they're overused these days and it's when you have a sense where you're going 'Is this really necessary or is it people just with less clothing on?' And that's where you start to get more uncomfortable and you're thinking, 'There's not a performance here, there's not a piece which is going to carry through to the rest of the movie.'”

However, he  admitted that there are instances where such scenes serve a purpose, adding: “I think s-- scenes can be great in a movie, they can really help with the story telling, but most of the time the human imagination is going to trump it.”

“So, it can be a little bit of a cop-out if a TV show or a movie is just filled with gyrating bodies and you're going, 'Okay, but what is this doing for us apart from the idea of an oh naked person, great.' [I'm] not a fan of doing them,” he concluded.
