'All That' Star Says She Was 'Ridiculed & Shunned' By Peers For Allegations

Following 'Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV', which shed light on former Nickelodeon producer Dan Schneider's alleged inappropriate behavior with young actors while he worked on the network, many stars are coming out to share their opinions or to tell their stories.

One of those actors is Angelique Bates, who starred in 'All That' for two seasons.

Schneider was known for his work on shows such as 'Zoey 101', 'All That', 'Kenan & Kel', 'Drake & Josh',  'iCarly', 'Victorious', and 'Sam & Cat', among others. He and Nickelodeon parted ways in 2018 after accusations came out against the former producers, however, that was not confirmed to be the reason for the split.

Now, after more accusations are coming to light from former Nickelodeon staff and crew, Bates is coming out and praising "those that spoke their truth," adding, "nothing but love & light. I still have no regrets in declining to participate. Certain stories hurt my heart. And I pray that you are able to heal."

In a different social media post, she addressed her fans, thanking them "for all of the love and support I have been receiving over the past few days. My team & I have received an overwhelming amount of messages and comments across all of my platforms."

She went on to address those messages and comments.

Angelique Bates revealed she was asked to be part of 'Quiet On Set' in the very beginning, however, she declined multiple times. She did not go into further detail as to why.

"I was the first one who did several times and years ago," she told her fans in a social media post, adding, "And I was ridiculed and shunned by a lot of my peers, industry, and the internet."

In 2016, Bates detailed her experience with Nickelodeon, claiming that she was physically, emotionally, and mentally abused by her mother while starring in 'All That' in front of producers, who urged Bates to keep her mouth shut about what was happening to her.

“I was only 12-years-old and that’s when my nightmare began,” she recalled. “I was physically, emotionally, mentally abused in front of the producers and cast members. Sometimes they could even hear me yelling, but nothing was done to help me.”

Shortly after the docuseries was released, Dan Schneider sat down for an interview with former 'iCarly' actor BooG!E, where he admitted that "facing my past behaviors, some of which are embarrassing and that I regret, I definitely owe some people a pretty strong apology.”

After watching the nearly 20-minute video, Angelique Bates took to Instagram to slam the former Nickelodeon producer.

"Does this mean I finally get part of my apologies?…or nah?," she wrote before clarifying, "sarcasm for those that are having a hard time reading it."

'Zoey 101' star Alexa Nikolas had a similar response, claiming she doesn't forgive him and she wants a direct apology.

‘All That’ actress Giovonnie Samuels agreed to tell her story in the 'Quiet On Set' docuseres, where she touched on the alleged work environment she endured while on the show. “I had no idea what kind of wild ride I was getting into," she admitted.

In one skit, titled 'Sugar & Coffee', Samuels says she played an old lady, who had to down "pounds and pounds of literal sugar in your mouth," adding, "and it's hitting you like sand." She then called out the network for the apparent physical abuse, saying that "sometimes we would choke."

Kyle Sullivan, who also appeared on 'All That' and guest starred on ‘The Amanda Show’, claimed the work environment was "dysfunctional."

"You could get away with more" while on set for 'All That', Sullivan alleged, before explaining how the show reportedly forced kids to work "overtime" and how they were "pushing the envelope."

Drake Bell came out for the first time in the docuseries to address the alleged s-xual abuse he endured from voice instructor Brian Peck.

“I often look back at that time and wonder how in the world I survived,” he said in the docuseries. “I remember all of the abusive events, but everything outside of that is very blurry to me, which is a bummer because I experienced a lot of great things in my life and my career during this time. But it was so overshadowed and ruined by what I was dealing with on the inside that it made it really hard for me.”

Former Nickelodeon actress Jennette McCurdy, who did not appear in the docuseries, also made allegations against Dan Schneider.
