Last month, Weathers made a surprise appearance in a Super Bowl ad that premiered on February 11. This gig marked his final role before his death and his family reportedly gave their blessings.

The online sports betting company FanDuel was scheduled to broadcast Weathers' ad during the Super Bowl tournament, but it approached the project with caution, given the actor's death just days earlier.

Andrew Sneyd, FanDuel’s executive vice president of marketing, said, “The family has been very supportive that they would still like to see Carl in the work.” Nonetheless, several edits were necessary to make it happen.

“He’s a wonderful man and he genuinely is an inspiration and had such a positive outlook on the world. We want to make sure we try to meet this moment with the respect it deserves.”
