Robert Pattinson had to put on another man’s "Batman" suit to lock down the chance to play the iconic role.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, director Matt Reeves was really unsure of who to go with when it came to Pattinson and actor Nicholas Hoult, who were the two in the running for "Batman."
Reeves thought of Pattinson when he wrote the script but wasn’t sure the actor would want the role because he had seemed to avoid big blockbusters since "Twilight."
Pattinson only locked down the gig officially last month and had to fly from Cannes to Los Angeles to meet with Reeves. During his screen test, Pattinson had to put on an old Batsuit, worn in a previous film, for a screen test on the Burbank lot.
Hoult also donned the Batsuit and underwent a screen test and the studio even had each actor negotiate deals prior to their auditions.
Pattinson will now be fitted for his own suit and the movie is scheduled to start filming next year.
