Brittany Cartwright's separation from Jax Taylor continues to make waves, with the Bravo star setting the record straight about the viral cheating speculations.
Contrary to the rumors that the "Vanderpump Rules" alum's marriage ended because of Taylor's infidelity, Cartwright's latest interview reveals the real reason behind their breakup and why they decided to take some time apart.
Brittany Cartwright Confirms Her Estranged Husband Did Not Cheat
During a candid look at her life away from her four-year marriage, the reality TV star stressed that she didn't walk away because of another woman. Instead, the former couple had lost the spark that once held them together.
"The truth is that we have just been fighting and not on the same page for a while now, and it was just becoming a negative space in our own house," Cartwright confessed.
"I just don't want that for our son. I don't want him growing up thinking it's normal to live like that," she continued, referencing the duo's 2-year-old boy Cruz. As for Taylor's alleged infidelity, the doting mother confirmed to E! News:
"Jax did not cheat on me, but we got into a very bad fight, and I decided to pack up my stuff, and I've been staying in an Airbnb since January 24."
The Estranged Couple Separated Before Their Breakup Announcement
Surprisingly, Cartwright claimed the estranged couple had broken up long before she announced their separation in February.
She explained that she only disclosed the duo's breakup because eagle-eyed fans had noticed they were living apart. In her words:
"The only reason that I felt like I had to announce was because the Instagram sleuths literally realized that I was staying at a different house, and rumors started spinning going crazy everywhere."
While it remains unclear if this separation will lead to a full-blown divorce or a reconciliation, Cartwright, on the other hand, is not backing down in her decision to move out of the former couple's Los Angeles residence. She said:
"I'm doing it for my mental space, and I feel very strong with my decision to get out for a while."

In the same interview, Taylor shared his feelings following the duo's separation. He seemingly implied the split might become permanent if they failed to reignite their lost spark, saying:
"I don't really have much fight left in me. We're separated; we're trying to work it out."
While he is uncertain about the future, he shared Cartwright's enthusiasm about their son's wellbeing amid their separation. "I gotta do what's best for my son. He's number one, and we both agree on that," Taylor stressed, adding:
"It's about knowing he's got two loving parents that love him to death, and he's gonna have the best life possible, whether we are together or not."
The Duo's Split Will Be Highlighted In Their New Series
Cartwright and Taylor's new reality TV show, "The Valley," premiered on March 19. The Bravo program promises to give fans a candid look at what went wrong in the duo's relationship, with part of the filming happening earlier this month.
At the time, Cartwright moved out of the estranged couple's Los Angeles home, with a film crew capturing all the juicy details. She was seen with a suitcase at her feet while chatting with several crew members before they retreated.
The reality TV star was reportedly filmed retrieving more of her belongings from the home, looking radiant in a chic ensemble. Meanwhile, Taylor did not appear to be at home as Cartwright packed her things, and he was later seen running errands.

As stated, Cartwright announced the estranged couple's separation in February and did so in an emotional episode of their joint podcast, "When Reality Hits." She noted the pair had been getting questions about their relationship status and wished to come clean.
"I know on my last podcast, I alluded to many marriages go through rocky times. Yes, marriages in general are very hard, and I've had a particularly rough year this past year," she explained before dropping the bombshell announcement:
"Jax and I are taking time apart, and I made the decision to move into another home to take some space for the sake of my mental health."
Cartwright pleaded with her fans to pray for her and Taylor as they navigated through this phase of their relationship. However, she stressed that they were both fine and had seemingly decided to split on amicable terms.
