Jane Schneck, the mother of Aaron and Nick Carter, has hit a wall in her legal custody battle over custody of Bobbie Jean Carter's nine-year-old daughter, Bella Jean Campos-Carter.

Per court documents obtained by The Blast, it is directing the Department of Children and Families to take any necessary actions they see fit.

Per the papers, Bobbie Jean's "nonrelative," Yvette Rodriguez, whom she left Bella with, has won her petition to cancel the Temporary Custody Order previously granted to Jane and her husband, Gregory.

The couple submitted a motion asking the court to let them temporarily take care of Bella in their family in January 2024.

In Yvette's current case, which was concluded on March 19, the court agrees that Bobbie Jean died on December 23, 2023, and her baby daddy's name is not listed on the minor's birth certificate.

However, they think it might be someone named Ricardo Marreo-Campos, even though they have yet to prove that.

Thus, Bella does not have a mother or a legal guardian right now and is staying with Yvette, who is not her family. Gregory and Jane allege that Yvette is preventing them from caring for their granddaughter.

Court Denies Jane & Gregory's Petition To Dismiss Yvette's Case

This is where it gets tricky — while the couple asserted in their emergency petition that Bella did not know Yvette before her mom died, there is a document that says the preteen lived with Yvette since August 2023.

The date suggests that Bella began living with Yvette at least four months before Bobbi Jean passed away.

Due to that, the court assumed Bella was placed with someone she did not know right before her mother's death. Thus, the court approved Jane and Gregory's emergency request the same day it was filed.

Now, the court says that since Yvette had physical custody of Bella for several months before her mother's death and had signed consent from Bobbie Jean for "temporary custody," she deserved to know about the ongoing legal proceedings and be given the chance to speak up. Hence, her request to intervene was approved.

Unfortunately, Jane and Gregory's request to dismiss Yvette's motion was rejected.

Prior to the legal tussle, Jane was tasked with announcing the passing of Bobbie Jean, which was the third tragedy for the Carter family.

Her son, Aaron, died at 34 in November 2022, and her daughter, Leslie, passed away at 25 in January 2012.

The occurrence of the unexpected event left Jane in grief and shock, especially when it came to her granddaughter being without her parents. In a statement issued via Instagram, the matriarch expressed:

"I am in shock from learning about the sudden death of my daughter, Bobbie Jean, and I will need time to come to terms with this reality happening for the third time. However deeply a parent feels the loss of a child, the suffering of a young child at the loss of a parent must be much greater."

After appealing to everyone to "say a prayer" for her "precious eight-year-old granddaughter," Jane added:

"When I am able to think clearly, I'll release a more detailed statement, but for now, I kindly request to be allowed to grieve in private."

Months after she was declared dead at a local hospital, medical authorities revealed that Bobbie Jean lost her life due to "intoxication by the combined effects of fentanyl and methamphetamine."

Investigators disclosed that her roommate found her unconscious on the bathroom floor 30 minutes after last seeing her at 6:30 a.m.

By 8:02 a.m, she was pronounced deceased after being transported to St. Joseph's Hospital in Tampa following a cardiac arrest.

The report also listed quetiapine (used for mental health conditions like schizophrenia), omeprazole (for indigestion, heartburn, and acid reflux), clindamycin (an antibiotic), and propranolol (an anti-anxiety medication) as "preliminary meds."

Additionally, Bobbie Jean's manner of death was classified as an "accident."

Bobbie Jean was subsequently laid to rest in a private ceremony on Saturday, January 6. Her memorial service took place just days after she was discovered unresponsive in her bathroom.

Sources reveal that the mother of two was buried on that morning in Florida, in a location outside of the Tampa area. The service was intimate, attended only by close friends and immediate family members.

It was uncertain at the time of The Blast's report whether Nick attended the event; however, insiders confirmed that Jane delivered the eulogy.

While Aaron was laid to rest in Southern California, his sister's gravesite was situated in Florida, a decision made to be closer to their mother.
