A royal expert has addressed the possibility of Prince Harry writing another book like his memoir "Spare."
The expert claimed that the Duke of Sussex isn't "up for writing another book" after the overwhelming impact his first had on his relationship with his father due to his criticism of Queen Camilla.
The Reason Prince Harry Won't Write Another Memoir
Back in January 2023, Harry debuted his long-awaited memoir, Spare. The book quickly broke several U.K. sales records and topped several bestseller lists. While it definitely made the Duke of Sussex smile at the bank, it came with extensive repercussions regarding his relationship with his father, King Charles, after he criticized his wife, Queen Camilla, in the book.
Although Harry claimed to have sufficient material for a second bombshell memoir, a royal expert suggests that the former senior royal is not inclined to pursue another writing endeavor.
"I can't see that Harry's up for writing another book," said royal expert Ingrid Seward in an interview with Honey Nine.
Giving an explanation for her claim, Seward said that Harry's possible reluctance to write another memoir could be attributed to his refusal to disclose details about his visit to see his father following the revelation of his cancer diagnosis.
However, she did note that it is highly likely that his wife Meghan will decide to debut her own memoir, which has been rumored on several occasions.
The Duke's Memoir Allegedly Damaged His Relationship With His Father
Still, in the interview, Seward claimed that Harry's memoir "damaged" his relationship with his father. The relationship was already strained by the prince's decision to step back from his senior royal role in 2020 and move to the U.S.
The editor of MajestyMagazine remarked: "I think it certainly damaged his relationship with his father that he criticized his wife so openly."
She added, "But you know, Charles has such a busy life; there's so much going on. I don't think he's holding a grudge against Harry; I just think he's withdrawn from Harry."
Explaining further, Seward said that Charles might be giving Harry the cold shoulder so as to avoid saying anything that can be used against him in the future.
She went on to say that Harry's act of criticizing Camilla was "very stupid," adding that "it didn't make the book any better."
What Did Prince Harry Say About Queen Camilla?
One of the comments Prince Harry made about Queen Camilla was an accusation that she was the one leaking stories about him and his family to the press.
"I have complex feelings about gaining a step-parent who I thought had recently sacrificed me on her personal PR altar," he wrote of her in his book, per the Daily Mail.
While promoting the book last January, he drove home his claim during his appearance on Anderson Cooper's "60 Minutes" show.
Harry said of Camilla: "She was the villain. She was a third person in their [my parents'] marriage, she needed to rehabilitate her image. That made her dangerous because of the connections that she was forging within the British press."
He added, "Because of the connections that she was forging… there was open willingness on both sides to trade information."
King Charles Was 'Outraged' By The Duke's Comment About Camilla
Following the debut of "Spare," an insider close to the royal fan revealed that King Charles was "outraged" by Harry's comments about Camilla.
"Charles is distraught," the insider said at the time," per the Cosmopolitan. "He's angry and outraged that Harry's aired so many embarrassing and damaging assertions, and it's put him in a terrible position with [Queen Consort] Camilla of course now that she's been dragged into the equation."
The source added, "That's really crossed the line in more ways than one, but there are so many egregious comments and revelations from Harry that his father doesn't know where to start."
Another insider later claimed that Camilla was "hurt" by Harry's remarks but that she "doesn't let it get to her."
"Her philosophy is always, 'Don't make a thing of it and it will settle down—least said, soonest mended." the source added per Newsweek.
Prince Harry & Meghan Markle Break Silence On Kate Middleton Photoshop Scandal
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex recently addressed the controversial Mother's Day photo of Kate and her kids that Kensington Palace posted.
Following backlash over the "heavily edited" photo, Page Six claimed that an official source from Harry and Meghan's camp mocked the Princess of Wales' photo and commented on what Meghan would have done if she were in a similar situation.
A spokesperson from the Sussexes' Archewell Foundation has now denied the reports, stating that they had not come from them.
"With respect to Page Six, that did not come from us," the spokesperson said per Newsweek.
Page Six did not state that the comments came from someone inside Archewell, as Newsweek pointed out that they could have come from someone close to the Sussexes who was expressing a personal opinion and was not officially authorized to speak on their behalf.
