The autopsy report for rapper Pop Smoke, who was murdered by a 15-year-old shooter in 2021, has been released and obtained by The Blast.
As previously reported, a detective says Pop Smoke was shot by a 15-year-old who was reportedly after the famous musician’s diamond Rolex, which later sold for $2,000.

While Pop Smoke, whose legal name is Bashar Barakah Jackson, was assassinated in 2021, the autopsy report is just now being released due to security holds -- and has been obtained by The Blast.
The cause of death has been confirmed to be from a gunshot wound to the torso, and the manner of death is confirmed to be homicide. The autopsy also states he was "shot by others."
While we knew Pop Smoke was murdered in his home in 2021, the autopsy has further revealed there were two gunshot wounds to Pop Smoke's body, "one perforates the torso and one penetrates and partially perforates the left lower extremity."
The entrance of one gunshot wound was through his left lower back, indicating the shooter had come up from behind.

"The gunshot wound of the torso had an entrance defect at the let lower back and perforated the left kidney, the stomach, and the heart, then exited the body at the central anterior chest," the autopsy states.
There were also "perforations of left kidney, stomach, and heart," per the autopsy report. Post-surgery attempted resuscitation, but it was too late.
Additionally, the autopsy states "minor blunt force injuries" to the body, including an abrasion over the right cheek and an abrasion over the bridge to the nose.

According to our previous report, Pop Smoke was killed in his Los Angeles rental house during a home invasion. Emergency services were called to the home and Pop Smoke was transported to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead after resuscitative efforts including surgical intervention with left-sided thoracotomy, per the autopsy.
Months after the murder, the Los Angeles Police Department arrested five people in connection to the shooting. Four of them were charged in Pop Smoke’s assassination, with police revoking the charges on the fifth suspect, however, he was implicated in an “unrelated string of shootings” earlier that year, according to the Los Angeles Times.
It was revealed during trial that the accused shooter, who was 15 years old at the time and faced murder and robbery charges, allegedly “admitted that they asked for the jewelry” and then got into “a confrontation” with Pop Smoke.

“They got into a fight, and he shot [Jackson] three times,” Detective Carlos Camacho claimed during the hearing. “[The accused] said he shot him on the back.” These details came from a “recorded” jailhouse interview between the teen and his cellmate.
“He admitted that he shot the victim three times with a Baretta 9 (mm.),” the detective testified.
Adding, “He said that when the individuals got inside, the suspects confronted [Pop Smoke], who was in the shower n-ked.”

Pop Smoke ultimately fought back and “rushed” the intruders, at which point the accused “pistol-whipped” him and then shot him in the chest.
A woman who was with Pop Smoke allegedly told cops that “masked men stormed through the curtains of a second-story balcony.”
Detective Christian Carrasco testified that one of the intruders allegedly put a gun against the woman’s forehead and told her to “Shut the f--- up. Do you want to die?” as the other suspects reportedly burst into the bathroom where Pop Smoke was showering.
“She heard a struggle coming from the shower area and heard Mr. Jackson [Pop Smoke] screaming. [Pop Smoke] ran out of the bathroom and then she heard a loud pop and [heard] Mr. Jackson fall to the ground,” Carrasco while on the stand.
One of four men pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter.
