Riley Strain, a 22-year-old University of Missouri student, went missing after being kicked out of Luke Bryan's bar in Nashville, Tennessee.
And his whereabouts are still unknown five days later.
Student Kicked Out Of Luke Bryan's Bar
The 22-year-old student was last seen by his friends on Friday night. They reported Riley was kicked out of country music singer Luke Bryan's restaurant and bar, 32 Bridge Food + Drink.
He was in Tennessee with the group for an annual event.
According to his stepfather, Riley FaceTimed his mom around 8 p.m. the evening he went missing from inside a different bar surrounded by his group of friends, who all gave her "a hard time because she was already in bed."
“He and his buddy were having a good time and he just wanted to show me that he was having a good time,” Michelle Whiteid told NewsNation’s Markie Martin on “Morning in America.”
That was the last time they heard from Riley.
Riley Strain Goes Missing
“At approximately 9:45 p.m., he was asked to leave Luke Bryan’s bar,” Riley's stepfather, Chris Whiteid, told WSMV of Nashville. “They got separated. The boys called him, and he said, 'I’m walking back to my hotel.' They didn’t think anything about it.”
The University of Missouri student had been cut off by the bartender at Luke Bryan’s bar, 32 Bridge Food + Drink, as he was deemed over-served, according to Strain’s stepfather.
Riley's fraternity brothers are the ones who reported him missing. They checked his Snapchat locations and went to the hotel they were staying at, but did not find him, so they called his parents and began a missing person report with the cops.
The missing student's mom, dad, stepmom, and stepfather immediately drove to Nashville, where they searched "every emergency room" in Nashville, but "no one had anybody by his name in there."
"And of course, they wouldn't tell us if they had anybody that matched the description," Riley's stepfather said in a statement to PEOPLE.
Riley Strain Remains Missing
The next day, the family went looking for their son, beginning with the area where his phone was last pinged before it died or stopped working. "It’s killing us," Riley's stepdad says. "Because we don’t know what’s going on. We can’t find him."
According to his stepfather, Riley's phone was last pinged at 10:15 p.m., 45 minutes after he was kicked out of the bar, and the location was in the opposite direction of the hotel.
“It’s very odd. Friday night when they got there, he had sent pictures, he called,” Whiteid said on the radio station. "Yes, we’re hurting and everything, but right now we’re still expecting a positive outcome.”
At this time, no one matching Riley's description has been located at a morgue. Additionally, no one was picked up by an ambulance or taken to an emergency room either.
"It wasn't good news, but it wasn't bad news," he explained of the news. "It was news that we still have opportunities to find him."
Riley Strain 'Stands Out In The Crowd'
Strain is described as 6-foot-7 “with a thin build, blue eyes and light brown hair," according to authorities.
“They should be able to quickly find him. I mean, at six (foot) seven (inches), he kind of stands out in the crowd.” Riley's dad, Ryan Gilbert, said. “Given the timeframe that we’ve been able to narrow down to, they should be able to start finding his digital footprint based on cameras.”
The fact that he has not contacted his parents is alarming, as it is out of character. According to NBC, security footage, it appeared that Strain was heading back to the hotel but took a wrong turn. It is unclear where the security footage is from.
Anyone With Information Is Asked To Contact MU Police
Riley went to Nashville with his friends for an annual event, but the communications director for the University of Missouri, says that the event was not affiliated with the university.
Strain is a senior business student at Mizzou. Anyone with information is asked to call MU Police, 573-882-7201, who is working with law enforcement in Nashville.
