Ariana Grande's song "The Boy Is Mine" has sparked new controversies about her relationship with Ethan Slater.

According to reports, the new music is a "slap in the face" for Slater's ex-wife, Lilly Jay, as some have suggested that its lyrics were targeted at mocking her.

One of the lyrics that caused the uproar read, "Please know this ain't what I planned for… Something about him is made for somebody like me."

Another one had the words, "The boy is mine/ I can't wait to try him/Le-let's get intertwined/ The stars, they aligned."

According to the source, Grande decided to drop such a song because she is yet to have Slater all to herself due to him still being legally tied to Jay.

The insider said, "Ariana left nothing up to interpretation. She spelled it out and those close to Lilly believe she did this because she is upset that Ethan's divorce is still dragging out."

"She wants him all to herself and feels that – because he is still legally married – she cannot truly have him," they added.

Grande's rationale for writing the song has been criticized following earlier backlash regarding her single "Yes, And?"

Lines from the song, such as "Why do you care so much whose d--- I ride?" "Your business is yours, and mine is mine" made many assume that the pop star was not remorseful for her actions.

A source told the publication, "For her to take the opportunity in her first song since all of this went down to show a complete lack of remorse for her actions is utterly disrespectful."
