Is Eric McCormack getting back together with his wife Janet Holden? That will probably be the question in the hearts of their fans. The couple sparked reconciliation rumors with their joint appearance at the 2024 Oscars viewing party.
Things seemed amiss between the "Will & Grace" star and his partner in November 2023 when she filed to end their 26-year marriage. Although Holden cited "irreconcilable differences" as her reason for divorce, she looked comfortable posing and holding hands with McCormack.
Eric McCormack & Janet Holden Are All Smiles Despite Pending Divorce
The famous lovebirds may be giving their marriage a second chance as they step out on Sundays as united fronts. The duo attended the Elton John AIDS Foundation 2024 Oscars viewing party in their best formal attire, looking like two happy peas in a pod.
McCormack flaunted his irresistible, dashing looks in a sleek black tuxedo with a matching black tie over a white shirt. He completed his dapper ensemble with shining black shoes, and his gray and black-tinted hair was styled in a wavy pattern.
Meanwhile, Holden showed off her slender figure in a silver sequined dress. The sleeveless number featured a low bust line and stopped before her ankles, drawing attention to her matching shimmery pumps.
Holden complemented the sizzling dress with long, sparkling gloves and carried a matching silver clutch. She was seen holding hands with McCormack and getting cozy with her arm around his waist as they posed for pictures on the red carpet.
Their Cozy Red Carpet Appearance Comes Four Months After The Divorce Filing
McCormack and Holden's friendly demeanor at the Oscars viewing party raised hopes of a possible reconciliation four months after their divorce made waves.
In November 2023, the "Travelers" actor's wife filed for separation at the Superior Court of California. In the documents obtained by The Blast, she cited "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for their split and demanded the court award her request for spousal support.
Surprisingly, Holden also asked to terminate McCormack's rights to support, meaning she didn't wish to pay for anything. The media personality's requests didn't end there. She also wanted her husband to pay for her attorney fees and accrued expenses from their divorce proceedings.
It is unclear if the couple has a prenuptial agreement, but they will most likely split everything equally. In her legal documents, Holden asked the court to "Determine rights to community and quasi-community assets and debts" and confirm their separate properties and assets.
As for their son, Finnigan, since he is not a minor child, there won't be a custodial battle over him.
McCormack Did Not Let Go His Wedding Ring
Days after Holden filed for divorce, McCormack was spotted for the first time with his wedding ring still intact. He was the epitome of somberness when he stepped out with his dog for a walk down a street enveloped by trees.
The Hollywood veteran donned a blue zip-up hoodie over a t-shirt, khaki shorts with black sneakers, and a baseball cap. He and his dog visited a shop for a morning coffee and a snack before stopping at a tree and staring off into the distance.
Before this November 2023 outing, McCormack and Holden were last seen together on July 24 at the opening night after-party for The Cottage in New York City. Prior to that, they made a splash at the Elton John AIDS Foundation Academy Awards viewing party in March.

McCormack and Holden have kept a low-key relationship for years; however, their romance reportedly began in 1994. The pair met on the set of "Lonesome Dove: The Series," filmed in the plains of Alberta, Canada, near Calgary.
Holden served as assistant director for the television show and soon found herself falling for a young McCormack. During an interview, she explained that the couple kept their romance hidden from the crew, saying: "There was a little bit of mystery and danger, which was fun."
Meanwhile, McCormack gave a candid insight into their relationship in a 2007 interview, confessing that Holden initially turned down his advances. In his words:
"At first, she wasn't too keen. She knew actors are a lot of work: it would be like taking your work home with you. But I managed to convince her."
They secretly dated for over a year until they decided to unveil their romance at the show's wrap-up party. Finally, they said their vows in an intimate ceremony in August 1997, and the rest is history.
