Beyoncé is such a gigantic celebrity, she’s forced to take extraordinary measures to ensure the safety of herself and her family, and she thinks sitting for a deposition could be life-threatening.
According to court documents obtained by The Blast, Bey’s attorneys say the need for super-secret measures for a Beyoncé appearance is an “unfortunate reality today.” She wants a protective order barring details made public about a time and location for her deposition.
The war around Blue Ivy’s trademark started when an event planner, Veronica Morales, opposed Beyoncé’s filing of “Blue Ivy Carter” to sell all sorts of products. Morales claimed it was too similar to her own Blue Ivy company. She started her company three years before the famous kid was born, and had already locked up a trademark.
Morales recently served Beyoncé with a notice to take her deposition. Now, Bey’s team is demanding a heightened protective order to minimize the intrusive use of extensive security for herself and the venue. She is aiming to “reduce the dangerous pandemonium that so often marks Mrs. Carter’s public appearances.”
She also wants to make sure details about her relationship with Jay-Z, her children, and her parents remain confidential.
The request has not yet been ruled on.
