Tom Cruise's Romance With Russian Socialite Ended Due To The Actor's Alleged 'Marriage' Proposal

Tom Cruise's romance with Russian socialite Elsina Khayrova became public knowledge after they attended a party in London's Grosvenor Square in early December. However, their relationship fell apart after three months in, and sources now claim it was due to the actor's intense feelings for her.

Prior to the news of their breakup, Khayrova's ex-husband, Russian oligarch Dmitry Tsetkov, warned the Hollywood star of his former spouse's allegedly expensive taste.

According to a report, the "Mission: Impossible" star's split from the Russian socialite ended because he fell too deep and moved too fast in their relationship.

The pair, who were first spotted together last December, ended things after Cruise allegedly proposed to Khayrova. Sources who spoke with Star Magazine (per RadarOnline) claimed he "fell for her hard" and that their "romance was going along smoothly."

They reportedly got to know each other very well and spent a good amount of time as their romance blossomed.

According to the insider, they "knew everything about each other," and Khayrova "knew all about his past" as he was "fascinated with learning everything he could about her."

Sadly, their relationship didn't endure long because Cruise allegedly asked her to marry him.

"Tom was in love with Elsina, and when he's in love, he moves fast," the source claimed. "Then he did what he always does when he finds a woman he loves: he asked her to marry him."

Khayrova allegedly accepted Cruise's proposal at first but then was put back by his intensity when the actor began rushing plans to tie the knot.

His actions piqued her interest, and she wondered why he was in such a hurry to marry. The insider added that it appeared overwhelming for her, and she "got scared off."

"He was obsessed with getting all the details exactly right, like Elsina's favorite flowers and colors, her favorite foods — even her wedding dress and the honeymoon," a source revealed, per Radar Online.

"Tom was handling every aspect of it, and it started freaking Elsina out," the source continued.

They claimed that she sat him down and told him "she couldn't go through with it" after having second thoughts about it.

"She explained that she had gotten caught up in the moment but needed a break," the source added. "He was shocked that she changed her mind. She broke his heart."

Cruise is reportedly still determined to win her back, as he has been "sending her flowers and jewelry." However, that is very unlikely, as the source noted that Khayrova said "she needs time apart to think," adding, "It seems like for her, it's over."

As we reported in February, Cruise and Khayrova's relationship seemingly grew so well that he reportedly got acquainted with her children.

The shocking breakup came just days after "The Outsiders" star met the Russian socialite's children.

At the time, sources claimed he wanted to remain friends with her as they lived in the same apartment block in London.

"To end things on a bad note would've been awkward if they bumped into each other in the lift," a source told The Sun. "There are no hard feelings between them, and, for Tom, their relationship simply ran its course."

Before their split, they were seen canoodling and attended several occasions together, including the London Air Ambulance gala, which had Prince William in attendance.

Away from his relationship issues, the "Top Gun: Maverick" star recently shocked diners and staff at a local restaurant in Derbyshire as he visited for lunch after filming a movie.

According to The Mirror, Cruise was seen filming the next part of "Mission: Impossible" at a nearby mine but was ready and well-dressed as he popped in for dinner at Restaurant Lovage with his team.

"We were honored to have shared our food and hospitality with @tomcruise and his cast and crew last week," a spokesperson for the organization said.
