Elon Musk recently slammed Jeff Bezos' ex-wife, MacKenzie Scott, over her choice of charity donations towards diversity, equity, and inclusion.

The SpaceX boss has previously been open about his opposition to aspects of Scott's charitable donations after alleging he suffered "unprovoked attacks" and believed the hostility was due, in part, to her "donation to PACs posing as charities."

Scott reportedly received over $38 billion when she ended her 25-year marriage to the Amazon founder in 2019. She has since given a handsome portion of that sum to charitable causes.

In a now-deleted post, the Tesla honcho took to X to slam Scott over her charitable donations to organizations working towards diversity, equity, and inclusion causes, according to a news outlet.

The post came as a response to an X user's post, where they complained that Scott was donating to organizations that "deal with issues of race and/or gender," bashing her gifts as "the ultimate expression of the most awful group in the US."

"'Super rich ex-wives who hate their former spouse' should be listed among 'Reasons that Western Civilization died,'" Musk responded.

According to her website, over half of the 1,900 charities she has donated to since receiving a lump sum from the termination of her marriage to Bezos deal with issues of race and gender.

According to reports, this isn't the first time Musk has registered his displeasure over Scott's charitable donations to organizations supporting women and minorities.

In 2022, the X CEO announced that he was voting Republican, claiming that he had faced "unprovoked attacks" from top Democrats at the time, as well as a "very cold shoulder" toward SpaceX and Tesla. He partly attributed those "attacks" to "Mackenzie's donation to PACs posing as charities."

"It's safe to say that Mackenzie [ahem] Scott is not exactly a big fan of her ex-husband," he added in another post, per the Daily Beast. "Unfortunately, a lot of others are getting caught in the crossfire."

Musk appears to dislike DEI efforts in general; for example, last month, he publicly accused Bezos of "killing creativity with draconian DEI restrictions on content," weeks after claiming that "DEI is just another word for racism."

His opposition to DEI efforts has not deterred Scott's efforts, as she has reportedly donated over $16.5 billion to over 1,900 charities.

Despite giving a considerable sum to his ex-wife after their divorce in 2019, which saw a dip in his net worth, Bezos has now overtaken Musk in the world's richest ranking on the Bloomberg index.

According to Bloomberg, Musk's decline in wealth is partly due to the 7.2% fall in Tesla's shares last Monday. He now sits on a reported net worth of $197.7 billion after losing over $31 billion in a few weeks.

On the other hand, Bezos fared better than his "rival" as Amazon's shares rose 17%, bringing the Blue Origin CEO's net worth up by $23 billion. He has now reclaimed the top spot, with a net worth of more than $200 billion.

He reportedly also raised over $8 billion last week when he disposed of 50 million of his Amazon shares. Bezos still owns about 9% of the company, which will allow him to continue making profits.

In other news, OpenAI has fired back at Musk after he filed a lawsuit accusing the company of deviating from its altruistic roots, per The Guardian. Musk accused the ChatGPT founders of deviating from its foundational mission by creating a for-profit unit and putting the making of money before its core aim of producing technology for the benefit of humanity.

Musk previously served on the company's board of directors until February 2018, when he stepped down before the company established its for-profit arm, in which Microsoft is the largest investor. He alleged that OpenAI "has been transformed into a closed-source de facto subsidiary of the largest technology company in the world: Microsoft."

"We're sad that it's come to this with someone whom we've deeply admired – someone who inspired us to aim higher, then told us we would fail, started a competitor, and then sued us when we started making meaningful progress towards OpenAI's mission without him," the executives wrote.

The company's executive also published a blog post containing email correspondence suggesting Musk desired a merger with them and Tesla. He appears to have said in one 2018 message that OpenAI should attach to the electric carmaker "as its cash cow" and in a subsequent email that "Tesla is the only path that could even hope to hold a candle to Google."
