Gwyneth Paltrow Reportedly Gives Her Blessing To Ex Chris Martin To Marry Dakota Johnson

Chris Martin and Dakota Johnson are engaged!

After six wonderful years, the power couple is ready to say their vows and Gwyneth Paltrow couldn't be happier about her ex-husband's second marriage. 

The sensational actress allegedly approved Martin's union to Johnson, a blessing she has been giving since the pair's relationship began in 2017.

The Coldplay frontman has been tight-lipped about his romance with the "Fifty Shades of Grey" star, so news of their engagement didn't break until recently.

It is unclear when Martin popped the big question; however, a source claimed he did so with the approval of his ex-wife and their two children — daughter Apple and son Moses.

"The couple got engaged a while ago and have kept the news private. But now they are being open about it with their circles," the insider explained, noting the pair's engagement wasn't surprising. In their words:

"They have been besotted with each other from day one, so taking this next step was inevitable. They are in no rush to plan the wedding but are just enjoying making their commitment official."

Johnson may have hinted at the engagement last October as she was seen wearing an emerald green ring on her wedding finger on her 34th birthday in LA, per the MIRROR.

Additionally, the confirmation of her new chapter with Martin comes shortly after she opened up about her desire for a family in a candid interview.

The "Madame Web" star admitted she "really wants to experience" motherhood, especially after being a step-mom to Martin's kids. She raved about her love for Apple and Moses, saying:

"I love those kids like my life depends on it. With all my heart. How do I feel about motherhood? I'm so open to that. I've gotten to this place where I really want to experience everything life has to offer."

"And especially being a woman, I'm like: 'What a magical f—ing thing to do. What a crazy, magical, wild experience,'" Johnson said. "If that's meant to happen for me, I'm totally down for it. We're not here for very long, so if I'm meant to be a mother, bring it on."

Since debuting their relationship, Martin and Johnson have proven they are relationship goals with sweet romantic gestures. Although they preferred to keep their romance low-key, the Coldplay frontman couldn't help but serenade his then-girlfriend at a 2021 concert.

A clip of the show held at the Shepherd's Bush Empire in London made waves on social media. Martin pointed to Johnson, who stood on a balcony, as his band began performing their hit single, "My Universe."

"This is about my universe, and she's here," the singer declared amid ecstatic screams from the crowd. His lover responded to his heartwarming gesture by clasping her hands together before gleefully dancing to the emotional track.

As stated, Martin and Johnson became an item in late 2017 and have been very private about their relationship. When the Hollywood sensation was asked about her romance in a 2018 interview, she refused to comment but assured fans that she was "very happy."

Despite keeping their love under wraps, the couple have been spotted on several romantic outings. These trips included a sweet boat ride and sightseeing in Palma De Mallorca, Spain, attending a Nick Cave concert in Israel, spending quality time with Martin's kids, and rocking matching infinity tattoos.
