Cher has filed a status update in her fight to gain conservatorship of her son, Elijah Blue Allman, whom she believes lacks the ability to manage his own finances.

In legal documents obtained by The Blast, the legendary singer claims Elijah's "untreated mental illness" and addiction have made it difficult for him to properly manage the money he receives from his trust.

Cher's previous attempts to gain conservatorship have been denied twice, with a judge stating that she does not see "sufficient evidence" to convince her to appoint a conservator for Elijah.

Amid an ongoing court battle between Cher and her son Elijah, the iconic musician filed a status update on March Wednesday, emphasizing why her son needs a conservator.

In the legal document, Cher states that "a conservatorship of [Elijah's] estate is appropriate and the least restrictive alternative because Elijah to properly care for his property."

She claims Elijah has a "well-established pattern" of being unable to manage his own financial resources or resist fraud or undue influence."

According to the legal document, for the past three years, Elijah has spent money received from his trust on "drugs, expensive hotels and other non-essential items" leaving him with "no assets" to provide for himself.

Cher further claims her son has no savings despite receiving over one million dollars in distributions from his trust since his father, Greg Allman's death in 2016.

The legal document states: "[Cher] is informed and believes that despite receiving over a $1,000,000 in distributions from the trust since his father's death in 2017, Elijah has no savings. [Cher] is informed and believes that Elijah's untreated mental illness and addiction exacerbates his inability to manage his finances because when he is experiencing psychosis or using illicit substances, he lacks the ability to make decisions, let alone rational decisions, about his finances."

As we previously reported, the singer has been turned down by a judge twice amid her attempts to place Elijah under a conservatorship.

On January 5, Judge Jessica A. Uzcategui of the LA Superior Court noted that Cher's attorneys had not provided Elijah and his lawyers with the required paperwork to give them enough time to present their case.

Elijah previously filed an ex-parte, stating that his mother failed to give him and his team enough time to properly prepare for the first hearing of the conservatorship. Due to this, Judge Uzcategui denied her request for an immediate conservatorship and postponed the hearing to January 29.

On the day of the second hearing, Judge Uzcategui turned down Cher's request for a second time, saying, "I don't question the motivation behind Cher wanting to [help] her son… however, I do not see sufficient evidence."

At the time, Elijah's lawyers shared a statement noting that he "is thrilled that the court saw he does not need a temporary conservatorship." They also said that he is open to mediation with his mother, Cher.

In one of Elijah's many court filings, he stated that he understood his mother had genuine concern for him but noted that he had no need for her support.

Elijah, who is also a singer, claimed at the time that he had been "clean and sober from illicit substances for over 90 days now and [is] fully capable of and committed to managing the money [he] receives quarterly from the trust left by [his] late father."

He added, "While I understand that my mother, the proposed conservator, believes she is looking out for my best interests, and I appreciate her love and support, I do not need her unsolicited help or support at this time."

Amid his fight with his mother, Elijah was recently granted a divorce dismissal. He had previously filed to legally end his marriage to Marieangela King, but the couple recently reconciled and have since put on a united front against Elijah's mother, Cher.
