On December 26, Farchi was asleep in his room at Venetian Las Vegas when he felt a sharp, stabbing pain in his testicles.

"I just felt like somebody stabbing me in my private area," the California resident described the feeling in an interview with KLAS. "It felt like a sharp glass or a knife."

The pain jolted him up from his sleep, and he quickly proceeded to the bathroom. Upon getting there, he received the shock of his life as he found a scorpion "hanging" in his underwear.

Reeling from the shock, Farchi claimed that he didn't even ask how the incident got into the room, climbed under his cover, and wound up in his underwear. However, when he told the story, no one seemed to want to believe him.

"Everybody was in shock. Nobody believed, even I couldn't believe," Farchi told the news outlet.

The Victim Is Considering Legal Actions

Following the incident, Farchi filed a medical incident report with the hotel, saying, "I have been bitten by a scorpion at my groin/testicles." He further noted that he had "a lot of pain" when asked what injuries he sustained.

As part of the report, Farchialso indicated what part of his body was hurt on a sketch of the human body.

Farchi is currently considering legal action against the hotel, as per his lawyer, Brian Virag.

"When you check into a hotel, you expect to be safe," Virag said in a statement to the outlet.

He added, "I'm certain that the Venetian, like every major hotel, has policies and procedures in place to try to avoid something like this. However, it's one thing to have policies and procedures in place; it's another thing to make sure they're followed."

The California Man Was Likely Bitten By An Arizona Bark Scorpion

The scorpion that stung Farchi is said to be an Arizona bark scorpion, known for having very distinct coloring. They are native to the Sonoran Desert in the southwestern United States, with the males growing as long as eight centimeters while the females can reach up to seven centimeters.

According to medical reports, scorpion stings are rarely life-threatening but can induce a lot of pain, which can last more than 24 hours. With the site of the sting being Farchi's testicles, it is unsurprising that he was in excruciating pain since that area of the body contains many sensitive nerves.

Apart from severe pain, some of the symptoms that can also come from scorpion bites include numbness, tingling, and nausea.
