The Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton has finally addressed the rumors about her disappearing from the public eye, through a representative, amid her recovery from abdominal surgery.
Kensington Palace previously announced that Kate's Royal engagements will resume after Easter.
Prince William, her husband, hasn't said much about Kate's health status and even fueled the rumors by bailing on his Godfather's memorial service.
Kate Middleton's Publicist Addresses Rumors About Her Disappearance
A spokesman for Kate Middleton has addressed the rumors swirling around regarding her disappearance from the public eye and health issues. There have been many theories and viral memes on social media questioning the Princess of Wales' whereabouts amid her recovery from abdominal surgery.
The statement from the rep read, "Kensington Palace made it clear in January the timelines of the princess' recovery and we'd only be providing significant updates. That guidance stands."
The rep further claimed that Kate is doing well and taking her time to recover fully.
Another Royal source previously commented on Kate's well-being after a journalist from a Spanish news program claimed she was in a coma due to health complications from the surgery.
The source said, "There is absolutely no truth to the report that Kate was in a coma. She is recovering at home."
Kate Middleton Will Resume Royal Duties After Easter
Kensington Palace, the official body covering Kate and Prince William's affairs, previously announced in January that the Princess of Wales was taking a break from royal engagements. They noted that she would likely not resume her duties until after Easter.
The statement was also shared on Kensington Palace's official X account. It read, "The surgery was successful, and it is expected that she will remain in [the] hospital for ten to fourteen days before returning home to continue her recovery. Based on the current medical advice, she is unlikely to return to public duties until after Easter."
In the statement, Kensington Palace expressed Kate's appreciation of the interest in her health, adding, "She hopes that the public will understand her desire to maintain as much normality for her children as possible; and her wish that her personal medical information remains private."
At the end of the message, the statement expressed that Kate wants to apologize to everyone affected by her postponement of future Royal engagements. The statement concluded, "She looks forward to reinstating as many as possible, as soon as possible."
Prince William Hasn't Commented On Kate Middleton's Health
Prince William also took a short break to be by Kate's side during her surgery and brief hospital stay. Although he has now resumed his public duties, he recently unintentionally fueled the rumors about her whereabouts.
On February 27, the Prince of Wales bailed on a royal engagement, the memorial service of his Godfather, the late King Constantine II of Greece, for "personal reasons," which many believed was an emergency involving Kate.
A few days after that engagement, William visited a London synagogue to address an alleged rise in antisemitism and spoke on behalf of him and Kate.
He said, "Both Catherine and I are extremely concerned about the rise of antisemitism." However, this only fueled further rumors about what had happened to the Princess.
Regarding her abdominal operation, a source spoke to Us Weekly and revealed that Kate has no plans to reveal details about the surgery. They said, "She's been resting up and enjoying lots of visits from Prince William and the kids."
King Charles' Cancer Diagnosis Has Limited His Royal Duties
Kate isn't the only Royal who's been having medical issues and withdrawn from the spotlight. King Charles III was recently discharged from a London hospital after having prostate surgery. Less than a month later, Buckingham Palace officially confirmed he'd been diagnosed with cancer.
The statement read, "During The King's recent hospital procedure for benign prostate enlargement, a separate issue of concern was noted. Subsequent diagnostic tests have identified a form of cancer. His Majesty has today commenced a schedule of regular treatments, during which time he has been advised by doctors to postpone public-facing duties."
The statement further explained that despite his diagnosis, King Charles "will continue to undertake State business and official paperwork as usual." However, there aren't many rumors because Charles has made multiple public appearances during his treatment.
