The celebrity breakup club has new members, with the son of power couple Victoria & David Beckham, Romeo joining the ever-growing list after ending things with his influencer girlfriend.
The 21-year-old recently confirmed his split from Mia Regan after five wholesome years. It is unclear why the former lovebirds decided to part ways; however, the rising soccer player stressed that their relationship remains cordial.
Romeo Beckham Shares Breakup Statement
The breakup news arrived via Romeo's Instagram Story, where he shared a cute picture of himself and Regan outdoors. The pair posed with their tongues out at each other in a picturesque background, and he captioned the snap:
"Mooch and I have parted ways after 5 years of love. We still have a lot of love and respect for each other, and still hold a strong friendship and always will 🤍🤍."
Just like the reason behind their separation, it is unclear when and how the former couple met, but they reportedly began dating in May 2019. They enjoyed a blossoming romance for two years before making their red carpet-debut at the British Fashion Awards in November 2021.
At the event, Romeo flaunted his superstar genes in a classic, black military-style suit while Regan donned a black, fringed Proenza Schouler dress from the luxury fashion rental site My Wardrobe HQ. She completed her look with elegant accessories, including a fringed yellow clutch and black platform heels.
The classy number made Regan a star that night, an achievement she partially owed to her then-beau's mother, Victoria. During a 2021 interview, the media personality explained she chose the Proenza Schouler dress because she wanted to leave her comfort zone.
To achieve her goals, she asked the Beckham matriarch for advice to help ease her red carpet jitters. "Even just talking about what I'm wearing with her, what nails and make-up I'm going to go for, it's nice to have that figure," Regan said of the former Spice Girls singer.
Her relationship with Victoria grew stronger in October 2022 when the duo collaborated on a six-piece denim capsule. Regan raved about their project in an interview, noting the fashion mogul gave her complete creative freedom to design the capsule. In her words:
"Victoria and I have always been in conversation about fashion. I've always wanted to do something like this. I felt that [Victoria] really trusted me. To see her in full work mode was cool."
Victoria echoed similar sentiments about their collaboration, stating that teaming up with Regan was an exciting way to bring her "signature Gen-Z flair" to her brand. She added:
"Mia has always had a unique approach to fashion and styling. I love that she's fun and not afraid to try new things when it comes to her personal style, which is reflected in the capsule. This capsule is so entirely Mia. And I love that."
