Kaia Gerber Called Out For Bikini And Chess Photo

Kaia Gerber largely received love as she kept herself occupied with an outdoor game of chess back in February 2021, but the model was also met with backlash as she stunned in a skimpy bikini.

Showing her Instagram fans how she was spending her lockdown, the daughter to supermodel Cindy Crawford showed off the frame she's inherited from her catwalk queen mom, also bringing in her adorable puppy as she soaked up rays and posed by a chess board. While fans gushed over seeing Kaia in swimwear, some were picking her up on the board setup.

Scroll for the photo. Rocking a black string two-piece as she stuck to a classic shade of black, Kaia set cross-legged and on a blue terrace mat as she enjoyed a large balcony overlooking ocean waters.

Soaking up rays as she enjoyed a game of chess, the Calvin Klein ambassador showed off her mile-long legs and tiny waist, also flashing some curve as she went plunging with her bikini top's neckline. Holding her dog in one arm and placing her free hand to one of the board's pieces, Kaia looked downward as she showcased her toned arms and shoulders, with fans barely seeing her face.

Sporting her long bob a little waved and seemingly naturally styled, Kaia rocked multiple colorful necklaces to dress up her look, keeping the vibe low-key and writing: "Paw to queen four." Fans have left over 400,000 likes. Celebrity likes came in from stars including actress Vanessa Hudgens and reality star Lisa Rinna.

It looks like the chess police was after Kaia. "Illegal move. You're in check," one fan wrote. "You don’t know how to play chess. Poser," another said. Seemingly trying not to be hurtful, a third fan told Kaia: "Nice pic and beautiful, but no credibility. Do you know how to play chess? The way the board is set-up and you're still playing suggests that you have little clue...So just another superficial posing pic for the world without any other skills than beauty. How sad. :(."

Amid the criticism, there was backup. Some fans weren't keen on seeing Kaia shamed. Supporting the 22-year-old was one user, who jumped in to say: "Jeez people are so harsh. Maybe she’s just learning how to play? Lots of people have taken an internet in chess after watching the brilliant Queen’s Gambit that I now have the desire to rewatch immediately♟."

Kaia has not responded to any of the comments.

Kaia made 2020 headlines for adopting a puppy, one she showed off while smiling for a selfie in July of that year. Rocking a yellow string bikini, Kaia wrote: "Thank you @thelabellefoundation for finding me the perfect forever cuddle buddy & the best friend a girl could ask for. welcome to the family milo boy."
