'Euphoria' Star Confirms Angus Cloud's Death Deeply Impacted The Show

'Euphoria' star Angus Cloud passed away last year, and his death is deeply impacting the upcoming third season of the HBO series.

On July 31, 2023, Cloud's mother found the actor lifeless in a chair slumped over his desk. The Alameda County Coroner confirmed Cloud suffered acute intoxication from an accidental overdose. Fentanyl, benzodiazepines, cocaine, and methamphetamine were found in his system.

The entire cast of 'Euphoria' was shocked and saddened by Cloud's death, including 54-year-old actor Colman Domingo, who portrays recovering drug addict Ali Muhammad on the HBO show.

In a recent interview with Vanity Fair, Domingo opened up about Cloud's death and how the cast of 'Euphoria' is coping.

"It was absolutely terrible because we felt like we lost one to the disease. And I'm sure it affected not only the creation of season three, because [Angus] was going to be a very strong part of it, but it's…I don't know," he said, adding, "We came together as a cast many times to grieve, to mourn, to laugh and enjoy all the things we know about Angus."

"He was a wild one. I love him. He was a wild little brother. He was just sweet and funny and warm and odd at the same time. And I love people like that," Domingo told the outlet of his late costar. "If you’re not a little off, I have no business with you. You got to be a little off to be up in my life. He was all those things."

Fans of the show were left on the edges of their seats as they watched Fezco's younger brother, Ashtray, die after a standoff involving the police. There was also a shooting that left Fezco's fate unknown.

When speaking on what fans can expect in the upcoming third season of the show, Domingo did not give away too many details.

"What I know is that we will have a season three. It will be challenging in the most beautiful way," he said, adding, "I always think that [creator] Sam [Levinson] is examining hope and faith, especially when it comes to people who are struggling and trying to find their way. I know Sam Levinson and his heart, and I know he's one of the kindest human beings that I know."

Cloud’s family first broke the news of his passing by saying, “It is with the heaviest heart that we had to say goodbye to an incredible human today. As an artist, a friend, a brother, and a son, Angus was special to us in so many ways. Last week, he buried his father and intensely struggled with this loss.”

The message continued, “The only comfort we have is knowing Angus is now reunited with his dad, who was his best friend. Angus was open about his battle with mental health, and we hope his passing can remind others that they are not alone and should not fight this on their own in silence. We hope the world remembers him for his humor, laughter, and love for everyone. We ask for privacy now as we are still processing this devastating loss.”

A release date for season 3 of 'Euphoria' is yet to be announced.
