Former President Donald Trump is basking in the success of his sold-out gold sneakers, which he launched at Sneaker Con just one day after being slammed with a $355 million fine in his New York fraud trial.

Trump's legal woes have been piling up as he was recently ordered to pay $83 million to former columnist E. Jean Carroll for allegedly defaming her. He is also set to appear in court next month for his Stormy Daniels trial over hush money paid during his 2016 presidential campaign.

On Wednesday, Trump excitedly took to his social media page to announce that his expensive gold sneakers have sold out less than a week after launching at Sneaker Con. The ex-president posted a photo of the gold shoes with "Sold Out" written boldly in red.

Down in the post's comment section was a mixture of praise for Trump's ability to sell shoes and confusion at the taste level of those who bought the gold sneakers.

An individual wrote, "NY fined him all that money he’s like let me drop a shoe real quick and get it right back lol."

One MAGA supporter commented, "Everything you touch is golden."

A third person noted, "I'm so excited to help you pay off all your legal debts. Please restock?"

Another person proudly wrote, "MAGA SHOES" along with four fire emojis.

Amid the love from his supporters, critics slammed Trump for selling shoes after being fined in New York.

"What the h---, Are you a [presidential] candidate or Shoe seller [?]" one person asked.

"Very gaudy shoes. Your cult members will love them. The rest of us laugh at them," wrote a critic of the former president.

Another person said, "Who in their right mind would get such awful and kitschy design?"

"The economy must be doing well if people can spend money on this," commented a fourth person.

One more person wrote, "$399 for $14 sneakers to pay for legal fees. Grifters gonna Grifter."

Aside from buying Trump's golden sneakers, MAGA fans have also decided to use the fundraising platform GoFundMe to raise money for the former president after he was fined $355 million in his New York fraud trial.

As of the time of writing, the GoFundMe page, launched by MAGA supporter Elena Cardone, the wife of real estate mogul Grant Cardone, has raised nearly $900,000 thanks to over 16,000 donations.

Elena stated in the description of the page, "This is more than a legal fund; it’s a clarion call to all patriots to rally in defense of a man who has never hesitated to stand in defense of us."

She added, "It’s about showing that when one of us is targeted for championing the values that make America great, he does not stand alone. We stand with him, shoulder to shoulder, ready to support, defend, and fight back against a system that threatens to undermine the very foundations of our republic."

Elena's husband, Grant, who is a multi-millionaire, also urged people to donate to the GoFundMe. He wrote on X (formerly Twitter): "Give something & DEMONSTRATE that the people of America are standing together against unjust rulings like this where a bias [sic] judges & corrupt legal system is out of control."

Trump himself has yet to acknowledge the existence of the GoFundMe set up on his behalf.

After being fined $355 million by Judge Arthur Engoron and barred from doing business in New York for the next three years, Trump took to his social media platform, Truth Social, to call out the verdict and accuse the judge of being "crooked."

He wrote, “A Crooked New York State Judge, working with a totally Corrupt Attorney General who ran on the basis of ‘I will get Trump,’ before knowing anything about me or my company, has just fined me $355 Million based on nothing other than having built a GREAT COMPANY. ELECTION INTERFERENCE. WITCH HUNT.”

In a video message to his supporters, Trump also echoed the same sentiments, describing the verdict as something that has never been seen in America.

He said in a short clip, "This is Russia, this is China, this is the same game. It all comes out of the DOJ; it all comes out of Biden. It is a witch hunt against his political opponent, the likes of which our country has never seen before. You see it in third-world countries, banana republics, but you don’t see it here.”

In a recent interview with ABC News, AG Letitia James stated that if the ex-president was unable to pay his fine, she would seize his assets.

"If he does not have funds to pay off the judgment, then we will seek judgment enforcement mechanisms in court, and we will ask the judge to seize his assets," James told the news outlet.
