Lady Gaga Thrills Her Fans With Playful Correction Of Old Social Media Post

On Tuesday, Gaga, real name Stefani Germanotta, took to social media to share a photo of her new collaboration with Fortnite. Even though she did not provide intimate details, the image for the upcoming project hints that it will debut on February 22.

It also suggests that the collaboration will be related to "Chromatica" — her sixth studio album released in 2020, as the album's symbol surrounds the game's logo. The "Bad Romance" singer also appears to be wearing a costume from that era in the shared picture.

As for the caption accompanying the photo uploaded on X, Gaga humorously wrote, "Fortnite*" above one of her old posts from 2019 that read, "What's fortnight." The correction of the spelling error threw her fans into excitement and speculation about what the collaboration could mean.

Amid the reactions, Polygon reported that Gaga will perform at the event alongside fellow pop stars like Bruno Mars, Eminem, Marshmello, Ariana Grande, Travis Scott, and others. According to the outlet, the Fortnite Festival debuted on December 9 with singer and actor The Weeknd as its headliner.

Various artists and instrument skins inspired by the Canadian record producer were released as part of Fortnite's battle pass at that time. With that in mind, fans expect that Gaga's release will probably follow a similar format.

The Fortnite Festival comprises two modes: Main Stage, where players can create a band and perform along to tracks similar to Harmonix's Rock Band games, and Jam Stage, where players can remix multiple songs into improvised mash-ups.

Unreleased Versions Of Gaga's Songs Recently Appeared Online

Shortly before Gaga thrilled her fans with the Fortnite news, Variety revealed that some unreleased versions of her songs were released on streaming platforms. The singles, totaling at least three, were credited under her real name without mentioning her stage name.

These tracks include different mixes of two previously released songs, "Perfect Illusion" and "Fashion," as well as an unreleased 2007 song titled "Retro Physical," an alleged collaboration with producer Noize Trip that has circulated online for years.

"Fashion" is identified as a demo but plays as a slightly sped-up version of the 37-year-old's song featured on the 2009 soundtrack for the film, "Confessions of a Shopaholic."

There is also speculation that the "Perfect Illusion" demo may have been created using AI and initially released as a fan prank when the single dropped in 2016. The tracks are said to have been uploaded by an entity identifying itself as "UnreleasedSongs" nearly one month ago.

While they also claimed copyright ownership over the tracks, how many other songs have been uploaded by UnreleasedSongs remains to be seen. The lack of clarity is inevitable as the frequent use of those two words on platforms makes search results inconclusive.
