'Outer Banks' Star Austin North Says He Has 'Little Memory' The Alleged Attack
North, known for his role in the popular Netflix series "Outer Banks," addressed his recent arrest in Las Vegas for allegedly assaulting hospital workers.
Taking to Instagram late Thursday, the 27-year-old actor shared details of the incident, attributing it to a severe anxiety attack he mistook for a heart attack.
"I am deeply upset by the events that took place in Las Vegas this past week," he wrote. "My friend drove me to the hospital because I thought I was having a heart attack. Several tests were taken, including blood, which came back negative for any drugs or alcohol in my system. I was having a severe anxiety attack."
Expressing remorse, North continued: "I have very little memory of the events that day at the hospital. I have the utmost respect for healthcare workers and hospital staff."
He concluded his statement with a pledge to raise awareness about anxiety disorders, adding: "I have battled anxiety on and off for years, and this was the most extreme panic attack I've ever had. Going forward, I hope to shed light on this debilitating disorder and send hope to those who have also struggled."
Austin North Was Arrested For Allegedly Attacking Hospital Staff
According to a report, the altercation between North and the hospital workers took place in the emergency room of a UMC Hospital, where the "I the Didn't Do It" star allegedly assaulted multiple hospital staff members unprovoked.
Witnesses recounted that North unexpectedly launched into an attack, throwing punches at hospital workers, striking a nurse in the head, and pushing a phlebotomist into a table. In self-defense, the phlebotomist reportedly used a tray to strike North.
Despite efforts to restrain him, North continued to resist and allegedly assaulted another individual nearby. He was eventually subdued and arrested for assault, later released on bond.
Fans Weigh In On Austin North's Arrest
Taking to X, formerly Twitter, fans weighed in on the situation, with a commenter speculating about North's state of mind.
"You can see the craziness in his eyes. Whatever Coke Austin North was on was pure; he definitely was going through drug-induced psychosis," the user noted. "This situation is going to ruin his image. I'm not excusing his actions, but I genuinely feel bad for him because this is damaging his image".
Another commenter acknowledged the severity of anxiety but questioned the lack of memory during the alleged panic attack, saying: "I get having really bad anxiety and all but I still think he would have memory of the event during a panic attack. He literally attacked the nursing staff for no reason and that is not okay. I feel like there may be more to this story than what is being said."
A third commenter drew parallels between North's alleged behavior and his character on "Outer Banks," noting: "Sorry I'm going to say it but that was SOOO in character for him. Topper was way too easy to hate."
Meanwhile, another person questioned the legal consequences, stating: "So he just assaulted 3 healthcare workers, and it's only a misdemeanor? Should be an automatic felony."
Austin North At The Super Bowl

The Netflix star chronicled his time in Sin City by sharing a video montage on Instagram, which included driving cars on a racetrack, attending various red carpet events, having onstage conversations with retired NFL player Rob Gronkowski, and enjoying nightlife activities after the football game.
Expressing gratitude for the Super Bowl experience, he wrote in the caption: "So grateful for the amazing Super Bowl experience."
North also thanked his sponsors for their support and acknowledged them for "going above and beyond."
