Melania Trump made her first major public appearance since her mother's passing at a gala alongside her husband, Donald Trump. At the event, Melania reportedly stayed "quiet" but always had a broad smile on her face.

According to a report, guests at the event noted that the former first lady was in "good spirits" as she stood close to Trump throughout the evening.

Melania is quite popular among MAGA supporters, with cheers erupting whenever her name is mentioned at Trump's rallies. During Saturday night's gala, the 53-year-old remained visible but didn't address the enthusiastic crowd.

Trump, however, was attentive to his wife, frequently checking on her amid the cheering crowd and giving her a hug and kiss on the cheek, praising her as the "great first lady."

Attendees noted Melania's cheerful demeanor, with Delia Hickman, the creator of the "Momma Loves Fashion" blog, telling the Daily Mail: "She seemed quiet but in very good spirits. She was smiling the whole time."

Hickman continued: "What I noticed, in particular, was that although everyone was waiting for Trump to make his grand entrance when he walked in and waved at everyone, he made sure to turn to her and acknowledge that she was there!"

"After he made his way to the podium, she was there standing by the stage the whole time, smiling. She waved and said hello to everyone who was close enough to reach out to her. She was all smiles. There was a look of great sense of peace on her face," she noted.

Trump recently expressed his affection for Melania on Valentine's Day when he sent a heartfelt fundraising message to his supporters, styled as a love letter to his wife.

"Hi, this is a Valentine's Day letter to my beautiful wife, Melania!" the letter began. "Dear Melania, I LOVE YOU!"

Trump then expressed gratitude for her unwavering support throughout challenges and controversies, stating: "Even after every single INDICTMENT, ARREST, and WITCH HUNT, you never left my side. You've always supported me through everything. I wouldn't be the man I am today without your guidance, kindness, and warmth."

He signed off with his full name, declaring, "You will always mean the world to me, Melania! From your husband with love, Donald J. Trump."

Since the passing of her mother, Amalija Knavs, Melania has gradually resumed her activities at the bustling Trump residence in Palm Beach.

The former First Lady, who shared a close bond with her mother, devoted significant time to caring for her during her illness until she passed away on January 9 at the age of 78.

During the recent holiday season, Melania was also notably absent from family photos as she tended to her ailing mother. Trump acknowledged Melania's dedication, stating she remained by her mother's side at a hospital in Miami.

Republican Senator Lindsey Graham, a close ally of Trump, attended Knavs' funeral and remarked on Melania's profound grief. "She was heartbroken," the senator noted. "Big loss. And she's tough so I'm sure she'll, you know, she'll keep helping the country in her own way. But yeah, I mean, that bond was incredible."

At the funeral, Melania delivered a heartbreaking eulogy, sharing that her mother, "the epitome of elegance and grace, exemplified the essence of a true woman."

After laying Knavs to rest, the 53-year-old took to social media to express gratitude to her fans and followers for supporting her through her journey of "grief and loss."
