Former NFL player Brandon Marshall recently made some BOLD allegations about Kanye West and Taylor Swift on the talk show Paper Route!
Marshall is claiming that Kanye West got humbled in his latest run-in with Taylor Swift at the Super Bowl —a claim that comes on the heels of West's backlash for name-dropping the singer alongside sex offenders.
Ye is no stranger to controversy when it comes to his relationship with the “Bad Blood” hitmaker and Brandon Marshall recently added fuel to the fire. Marshall is alleging the pair's rocky dynamic got West kicked out of the Super Bowl...
Did Kanye West Really Try To Cash In On Taylor's Super Bowl Fame?
Marshall spilled the hot tea about what allegedly transpired between West and Swift at the Super Bowl tournament. He shared his claims on the “Paper Route” podcast, noting the drama began when Ye bought a ticket directly in front of Swift's booth.
According to Marshall, West tried to use Swift for clout because purchasing a booth close to the singer would make them share screen time whenever the cameras captured her throughout the evening.
It is no secret the blonde entertainer has been generating a buzz at NFL games following the debut of her romance with Kansas City Chiefs player Travis Kelce. But, did West really try to cash in on the singer's fame?
In Brandon Marshall's own words:
“He’s got a mask on with his logo on the mask — typical Kanye. Taylor Swift gets pissed off, she boom boom makes a call or two. Everybody’s involved. He gets kicked out the stadium!”
Marshall continued, reiterating that Kanye “Got kicked out the stadium“ before adding, “He was trying to leverage her celebrity.” The podcast host agreed with his narrative, noting that West “strategically” placed himself next to Swift because he knew the cameras wouldn't cut to him.
While Marshall's claims would have marked a significant win for Swift in her long-time beef with West, reports suggest that there are a few problems with his allegations as the Yeezy founder was seen at the Super Bowl event most of the evening.
Despite Marshall claiming Kanye got kicked out for purchasing a booth in front of Swift, apparently the rapper had a different box with other artists, including Ty Dolla $ign and Anderson Paak at the game. Others noted that West isn't the type to stay quiet when wronged, and would have publicly addressed the situation if he had in fact been kicked out of the stadium.
Kanye West Criticized For Name-dropping Taylor Swift In New Song
Just days before his alleged run-in with Swift, West became the No.1 enemy of the Swifties for name-dropping Swift in his new song alongside s-x offenders. The online criticisms began after the release of “Vultures,” Ye’s joint album with Ty Dolla $ign.
One of the album's tracks, “Carnival,” captured West on a name-dropping spree, mentioning Swift alongside incarcerated singer R. Kelly, disgraced actor Bill Cosby, and rapper Diddy, who is currently knee-deep in an array of sexual assault allegations.
Part of the x-rated lyrics read: “Now I’m Ye Kelly, b— (Ha), now, I’m Bill Cosby, b— (Ha). Now, I’m Puff Daddy rich (Ha), that’s ‘#MeToo me’ rich (Ha). Why she say she sucked my d—? (Ha). Then she say she ain’t sucked my d— (Ha). She gon’ take it up the a— (Ha), like a ventriloquist (Ha). I made six Taylor Swift (Ha).”
While West's choice of words sparked media outrage, Swifties were particularly offended because they believed he was indirectly labeling their idol a s-x offender by associating her with these disgraced entertainers.
One X user slammed Ye’s actions as intentional, writing, “Mentioning Taylor’s name next to a bunch of men who are sex offenders is definitely a choice.” Another disappointed fan described him as “sexist” with the comment:
“Kanye West is the type of man who always falls into the sexist, disgusting, and male chauvinist insults because otherwise he doesn’t know what to say against THE WOMAN that is Taylor Swift.”
A third claimed West used Swift’s name for clout, sharing a video of a woman calling herself a genius alongside the caption, “How Kanye West felt name dropping Taylor Swift in his new album cause it’s the only way he can get relevancy. #taylorswift #KanyeWest.”
More X users echoed similar sentiments, with someone wondering: “What does ‘I made six Taylor Swift’ even mean?? And why in God’s name would anyone ever want to compare themselves to Bill Cosby?!”
