Last month, reports surfaced that a spin-off of "Suits" titled "Suits: LA" was in the works, sparking speculation about Meghan Markle's appearance in the series that shot her to stardom.

However, sources close to the show have now confirmed to the Daily Mail that Meghan has no intentions of acting in the upcoming "Suits" spin-off despite the creators crafting a "perfect role" for the royal.

The insider, however, hinted that the Duchess of Sussex explored the possibility of becoming an executive producer on the show by involving her company, Archewell, in the production.

"Meghan was clear that she didn't want to be involved as an actor. But Archewell was trying to wiggle its way in as a production company on the spin-off," the insider told the news outlet. "NBC has killed that idea."

"Suits," which premiered in 2011 and came to an end in 2019, made a comeback last year when the initial eight seasons of the series landed on Netflix.

Upon its debut on the streaming service, the legal drama quickly became the most streamed show in the U.S. for 12 consecutive weeks, setting a new record for the most number-one appearances on the American Nielsen ratings chart.

Reflecting on the show's resurgence, Meghan, who portrayed paralegal Rachel Zane in the original series, told Variety during an event that she had "no idea" of the show's enduring popularity but added, "Good shows are everlasting."

"It's hard to find a show you can binge-watch that many episodes of these days," Meghan noted. "So that could have something to do with it."

Speculation about a potential reboot of the legal drama rose following a series of never-before-seen snapshots shared by Patrick J. Adams, who portrayed Michael James Ross, Meghan's love interest in the series.

Adams posted a collection of throwback behind-the-scenes images featuring himself and his "Suits" co-stars, including several intimate shots with the Duchess of Sussex, which he captioned: "I miss my friends."

Despite the speculation sparked by Adams' posts, they were later deleted, with the actor citing their removal as a move to avoid distracting from the ongoing actors' strike. However, many at the time interpreted the posts as a hint at the show's revival.
