Speedy Morman is in for a SMASH of a weekend in Las Vegas!
The journalist, on-camera host and executive producer is gearing up to host the inaugural Smirnoff SMASH Pickle Bowl on Saturday that features a star-studded lineup and the launch of the new Smirnoff SMASH Vodka Soda in four flavors.
Speedy Morman Is Ready For A SMASHing Good Time In Vegas!
On Saturday, Smirnoff's first ever SMASH Pickle Bowl will have celebs battling for the title of champion. There will be four teams, one for each of the new Smirnoff SMASH Vodka Soda flavors.
Representing Team Watermelon Lime will be award-winning recording artist Saweetie and pop icon Lance Bass. NFL legend Vernon Davis and NFL commentator Kay Adams will be representing Team Raspberry Peach. Team Pineapple Orange will be reality stars Scheana Shay and her husband Brock Davies. And then there's Team Strawberry Dragonfruit, who will be "a more unexpected collab than ever imagined" according to a press release. Speedy will be hosting all the fun!
“I’m super excited to work with a brand as storied as Smirnoff. When I think of bold flavors and fun experiences, they’re one of the brands that come to mind and so when they reached out, I knew they were someone who I would definitely be down to work with," he told The Blast exclusively. "And so now we’re headed to Vegas and we’re having a dope event out there that I’m really excited for people to see. This event is gonna be fire."
While Speedy is hosting the event and not playing in it, he said he'll be "ready to rock" if someone needs a substitution.
"They should be lucky I’m not playing. I’m on hosting duties for the day," he said. "I have played here or there but I’m just naturally good at it. I feel like if I pick up the paddle, I’ll be ready to rock. If they need somebody to play just in case somebody drops out, I’m in there.”
So who does Speedy think will be the biggest competition of the day? His money is on Team Raspberry Peach.
"They got Vernon Davis on there who’s obviously a legend, and Kay Adams as the teammate," he said. "I just think that duo is gonna be tough to beat. There are a lot of bragging rights on the line.”
While Speedy said he likes all four of the new Smirnoff SMASH Vodka Soda flavors, his favorite is the pineapple orange, with a close second being raspberry peach.
As for attending the Super Bowl in person this year, Speedy said, "let's see if I wind up at the game" because his main focus at the moment is hosting the inaugural Pickle Bowl.
When he ends up watching the annual game at a party, he knows just what foods to celebrate with depending on where he's at.
"I never host it at my house because if I did it would just be too basic," he told The Blast. "When I go to other people’s cribs, I love a little nacho, I love a little salsa, taco, little finger foods is always good, and I love a little curveball, something that’s a little more advanced than just like french fries. I prefer to have a little shrimp cocktail, something that’s a little bit a step above. That’s really the go-to for me.”
Speedy Morman Always Knew He Wanted To Be A Journalist And On-Camera Host
Speedy always knew what he wanted to do and started his career with an unpaid internship while he was working his way up the ladder.
"I just always knew this is what I wanted to do, so I got an internship and worked my way up," he explained. "This was back when internships were largely unpaid and just grinded it out."
Speedy is currently the host and executive producer of "360 with Speedy" on Complex. When asked if he has a favorite interview of all time, he explained that would be like choosing a favorite child.
"I love them all, some more than others, honestly," he said. "But I have to say either President Barrack Obama just because, how iconic is that, sitting across from the 44th president. Or, one that meant a lot to me personally, Kobe Bryant. As a kid, he was the only person I ever really looked up to and only person I ever cared to interview and so I’m honored I got to do it before he passed on.”

As for who he would love to sit across from to interview in the future, many instantly come to mind. Actually, too many to name at the moment, but he did highlight a few.
“I would love to talk to Jay-Z, Beyonce, Drake, there’s a bunch. There’s so many people I would just love to speak with. Some that are not famous as well," he said. "I just love talking to anybody to be honest. I love to hear and listen. I’m willing to listen to anybody for real.”
