Nobody knows better than Kristin Cavallari how it feels to be pursued by Diddy.
According to the fashion designer, the rapper made persistent attempts to score a date with her when she was younger, but she turned him down because he did not fit her preferences. Many years later, she disclosed feeling relieved that she avoided a potentially problematic situation.
Cavallari Recalls Diddy's Advances Towards Her
Over the last few months, Diddy's name has been attached to multiple alleged accounts of sexual assault and misconduct.
Cavallari's experience, although not that of abuse, had plenty to say about the music mogul during Tuesday's episode of her "Let's Be Honest" podcast, claiming that he went to great lengths to woo her.
She asserted that Diddy went as far as showering her with Valentine's Day gifts in an attempt to secure a date. As she detailed:
"I was 22, I believe, we had a mutual friend, he got my number, whatever. He sent me the biggest bouquet of flowers I've ever seen. The biggest box of chocolates I've ever seen. A huge teddy bear."
The former "Laguna Beach" star also declared that Diddy sent her bottles of his DeLeón tequila as part of his efforts to court her, saying:
"I mean, it was like, 'Holy s—t.' I mean, it was multiple people bringing s—t into my house. It was like s—t you see in a movie."
The record executive, now 54, reportedly expressed to Cavallari that he had a "TV crush" on her and stated his desire to take her out on a date, an offer she ultimately declined.
Despite not accepting Diddy's invitation, the now-37-year-old confessed that she found the attention tempting. In her words:
"I mean, there's obviously a part where you're like, 'Whoa, this guy is spoiling the s—t out of me.' Like that's so sweet, and I've never met this guy."
However, reflecting on the situation, Cavallari has come to see the grand gestures as a "red flag," passionately adding, "That's some love-bombing kind of s—t" and that she "dodged a f——g bullet."
The television personality shared that even though she made it clear that she was not interested in dating him, Diddy repeatedly asked her out. Elaborating on her stance to turn him down, Cavallari told her co-host, Justin Anderson:
"I could never just go on a date with someone because it was so-and-so. I have always had to be attracted to you... I don't want to be the arm candy."
The revelation comes two months after Diddy spoke up about the slew of lawsuits filed by several women alleging rape and involvement in sex trafficking against him. Taking to social media to share a titled "Enough is Enough," the Grammy Awards winner informed his followers:
"For the last couple of weeks, I have sat silently and watched people try to assassinate my character, destroy my reputation and my legacy. Sickening allegations have been made against me by individuals looking for a quick payday. Let me be absolutely clear: I did not do any of the awful things being alleged. I will fight for my name, my family, and for the truth."
Cavallari's Relationship With Her Father Erupted Years Ago
Another man's name was on Cavallari's lips during a mid-December episode of her podcast when she talked about narcissists alongside her guest Dr. Sherrie Campbell.
The emotional session, titled "Surviving Narcissist Abuse," witnessed the host reflecting on her father, Dennis Cavallari's self-centered behavior. The Uncommon James founder revealed:
"I cut my dad out of my life about two years ago, which has honestly been the best thing I've ever done. I actually didn't even realize that my dad was a narcissist until I was an adult."
While she did not disclose the specific actions that led to the breakdown of their relationship, she emphasized that the decision was long overdue. Kristin recalled enduring emotional abuse from her father as a child, feeling perpetually inadequate in his eyes.
Despite his actions causing her to despise being around him, Cavallari recalled her father's knack for manipulating her emotions. She said:
"But then the flip side of that is, sometimes he would put me on this pedestal and talk me up. Now, as an adult looking back, I'm like, 'Oh, it was when it benefitted you and made you look good.'"
