The drama surrounding Kim Zolciak and Kroy Biermann's divorce intensifies with new claims against the former NFL star.
Zolciak recently accused her ex-husband of leaking information about their divorce proceedings, noting sensitive details have been revealed to the press. To rectify this problem, the "Real Housewives of Atlanta" star requested that a judge issue a protective order to stop the public's access to the case.
Kim Zolciak Is Fighting For A Private Divorce From Kroy Biermann
In new legal documents, Zolciak raised concerns about the media's attention on her high-profile divorce. She stated the press had covered every juncture in the ongoing case, having access to information that should usually be restricted.
These sensitive details included embarrassing information about the reality TV star and Biermann, which she never wanted fans to read but is being leaked anyway. She named her soon-to-be ex-husband the culprit, claiming she tried to get his approval to stop the press's attention.
However, Zolciak noted that Biermann rejected her proposal to get the confidentiality order, making her suspect he was the one leaking information to the press. Thus, she filed the new court documents obtained by TMZ and begged a judge to step in so she could protect sensitive details in the ongoing case.
If the court-ordered discretion is implemented, Zolciak can stop information about specific names and financial records from entering the public record. However, a judge has yet to rule on the matter.
The "Don't Be Tardy" star's claims about her former beau's loose lips come at the heels of another severe allegation. In January, The Blast reported that she slammed Biermann for stealing "hundreds of thousands of dollars" worth of personal items.
She first filed a report of the alleged theft of her expensive jewelry and purses by the former football player earlier in January before bodycam footage detailing the incident was released. The video revealed Zolciak had informed authorities her belongings went missing in May 2023.
She said, "I've asked for them back, and he won't give them back." The expensive items were allegedly hidden in a safe in the former couple's master bedroom, but she had no access to it and resorted to calling the cops to her residence.
In the clip, a distressed Zolciak pleaded with the police to recover her items while accusing her ex of past threats and physical fights. Meanwhile, Biermann, from behind the bedroom door, denied these allegations and expressed concerns about his safety.
Law enforcers ended the drama with Biermann returning his ex's comforter, medications, phone charger, and neck cream. However, Zolciak later claimed her pricier items, including diamond jewelry, purses, and a watch, were no longer in the safe she thought they were stored.
She explained she discovered the missing items after breaking into the locked vault. "My attorney said I need to file a police report because the stuff is stolen," she said in the video, adding that a jeweler had sent her pictures of her bracelets on Instagram.
Additionally, Zolciak alleged that Biermann earned $25,000 from selling some of her belongings. These claims led the officer with her to clarify that due to her pending divorce, the police could not intervene.
He explained that since they were still legally married, the pair's properties belonged to each other. "Yours becomes his, and his becomes yours. Until that divorce has been finalized, there is no technical crime that is being committed right now," the officer said.
Kim Zolciak & Kroy Biermann Slash Price On Their Family Home
Before the new updates in their legal drama, the former couple made headlines for once again reducing the asking price of their Georgia mansion. Initially listed at $6 million, the cost of Zolciak and Biermann's home was reduced to $5.5 million before another reduction to $4.5 million.
Despite the price cuts, there are still no significant takers for the property — a problem allegedly caused by property values in the area being lower than their initial listing.
This made the recent price drops a strategy to attract interested parties amid the duo's desperation to improve their financial woes. The pair are facing multiple lawsuits and dealing with Internal Revenue Service [IRS] scrutiny.
Regarding their original price drop, court documents showed Biermann doubling down on the urgency of selling the 9,407-square-foot property. Citing dire financial circumstances for both him and Zolciak, the former football player wrote:
"The only asset they currently own with equity is the marital residence. The mortgage is held in the petitioner's name. However, it is set to be foreclosed in November."
"The current living situation is unsustainable and is detrimental to the mental and emotional health of the minor children," the document added.
