Gypsy Rose Sentenced To Prison For Her Involvement In Her Mother's Murder
As we repoted, Gypsy Rose is believed to be a victim of Munchausen by proxy, which is a physiological disorder that many believe her mom, Dee Dee, had. Munchausen by proxy is a behavioral disorder "marked by attention-seeking behavior by a caregiver through those who are in their care," per WebMD.
Over the years, Dee Dee took Gypsy Rose to the hospital over 100 times and convinced the doctors to give Gypsy various surgeries, including gastrointestinal operations, the removal of her salivary glands, and certain eye procedures.
After Gypsy found out that her mom fabricated the medical diagnosis, she felt the only way out was to get rid of Dee Dee, so she and her then-boyfriend, Nicholas Godejohn, began plotting her murder.
Both Gypsy and Nicholas were sentenced to prison. Gypsy was sentenced to 10 years with the possibility of parole after she completed 85% of her sentence, while Nicholas was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
The 32-year-old has been out of prison for approximately one month and seemingly is catching up on life as she's already adopted a new puppy, released a new docuseries, attended a wrestling event, and appeared on several daytime talk shows including 'Good Morning America'.
Shortly before her release, Gypsy Rose Blanchard spoke to PEOPLE, admitting that if she “had another chance to redo everything, I don’t know if I would go back to when I was a child and tell my aunts and uncles that I’m not sick and mommy makes me sick.”
She was released from prison after serving 85% of her 10-year sentence for pleading guilty to second-degree murder and is now on parole.
