Following his near-fatal snow plow accident, Jeremy Renner will appear in his first-ever Super Bowl ad during the upcoming game on February 11.
The Marvel actor suffered an accident in 2023 involving a Sno-Cat, which weighed at least 14,330 pounds, as he was trying to save his nephew. The snowmobile ran the actor over, leaving him to fight for his life.
Now, over one year after the near-death experience, Renner is getting ready to appear in a Super Bowl ad for his first-time.
Jeremy Renner's Upcoming Super Bowl Ad
As previously reported, Renner said he suffered from “eight ribs broken in 14 places. Right knee, right ankle broken, left leg tibia broken, left ankle broken, right clavicle broken, right shoulder broken. Face, eye socket, jaw, mandible broken. Lung collapsed. Pierced from the rib bone, your liver — which sounds terrifying.”
He miraculously recovered and has admitted he now has a new perspective on life and death.
One of the things he is looking forward to is his first-ever Super Bowl commercial.
"I had a commercial career, then I got a movie star career. I never had an ad in the big game," he told Entertainment Tonight, adding, "I'll be watching this one, and I'm so stoked, because they're sometimes the highlight of the Super Bowl."
"Some games aren't always the greatest, but the ads are always the greatest," the actor continued, "It's nice to be part of that, thinking [I can] check that off the box of things I want to do in my life."
Renner is not the only celeb to star in ads for the upcoming NFL game as Jenna Ortega has been tapped to appear in a Doritos commercial while Tom Brady, Wayne Gretzky, and Vince Vaughnstar in a BetMGM ad.
Bounty will also air a commercial featuring many NFL icons including now-retired Rob Gronkowskiand Julian Edelman as well as current football players Damar Hamlin, Ja’Marr Chase, and Tee Higgins.
Jeremy Renner Reflects On Life After Near-Death Accident
When speaking to the outlet, the 'Avengers' actor revealed that he's feeling "strong" and is doing "90 percent of all the things I needed to be doing."
"I think another six months will be hopefully running [more]... I got to set goals for myself. I'll do whatever I can... whatever it takes to get better, to get stronger," Renner told ET. "It's a one-way street, this recovery."
He continued, "The rest of my life is about health and wellness. Recovery will be part of the rest of my life, so I look forward to it, man. There's always something to do to get better, be stronger, be happier, be healthier, and that's what I look forward to."
On the flip side, Renner admitted "It's hard for me to look back, to be honest with you," adding that it is also hard for him to "look forward."
The 54-year-old actor said the best thing for him is to take things day by day. "I focus on now and this next step in front of me, 'cause there's always another obstacle for me right now."
Jeremy Renner's commercial will air Super Bowl LVIII, which takes place on February 11.
