Michael Bublé said he was on a "microdose of mushrooms" during the NHL All-Star game press conference.
Buble, who was a celebrity captain for this year's NHL All-Star Game, admitted the experience felt like a Will Ferrellmovie.
Michael Bublé: 'This Is Just A Microdose Of Mushrooms'
During the NHL All-Star press conference, the singer had some fun with the crowd by claiming he was on shrooms.
"My buddy told me, this is just a microdose of mushrooms, and he was LYING," Bublé said in a press conference as he sat alongside actor Will Arnett.
"So, I’ll be honest, I thought I was in 'Blades of Glory' for most of the time that I was out there," the singer continued, "until it sort of settled down and then I realized, 'Holy s---, I am in the NHL All-Star Game."
However, shortly thereafter he backtracked his claim, saying the whole thing was just a "joke."
"Of course, I wasn’t [on mushrooms]! I'm sitting here at dinner. I do have a problem with bread," he hilariously added. "When I get anxious, I can’t stop eating it. But no, not mushrooms."
Although the singer cleared up any confusion, fans still found his joke hilarious. "Michael Bublé wins best press conference," one user said.
"Suddenly I am a Michael Bublé fan," another stated.
A third expressed the same thing, writing, "The mushroom talk got you a new fan. This was hilarious and unexpected."
Michael Bublé Says NHL All-Star Game Is A 'Childhood Dream'
Bublé, who is a huge fan of the NHL, said becoming a captain of the All-Star game “is the childhood dream of any kid who loves hockey, you know? You’re out there with the guys you watch and scream for.”
The 'Feeling Good' singer ended up with New Jersey Devils center Jack Hughes, Vancouver Canucks defenseman Quinn Hughes and Canucks center Elias Pettersson.
“I don’t know when I’ll get the chance to do this again with Quinn, so definitely it was important to both of us for me to come and show up,” Hughes said of the game. “I think it’s something we’ll look back on. It’s a really fun thing. I wish I was playing, but this is a really cool and special thing.”
Will Arnett, the other captain of the All-Star game also spoke out on the experience, saying, "We were like kids up there. Yeah, you meet a lot of people. You meet a lot of entertainers. But I get star-struck around athletes, and growing up in Toronto, I get star-struck around hockey players, for sure.”
Arnett was teamed up with Conor McDavid, captain of the Edmonton Oilers, who said it "was fun to be a part of,"
"Not every day do you get to draft a team out of the best players in the world, and Leon and I had a really good time with Will Arnett. He’s a great guy and made it fun for us. He was super entertaining, so it was fun to be up there," McDavid added.
