Reese Witherspoon 'Excited' About Possible New Romance After Jim Toth Divorce

For Reese Witherspoon, the third time might be the charm in her quest to find the one!

Despite having two divorces under her belt, Witherspoon reportedly is not giving up on finding love and has begun dating as the one-year anniversary of her divorce from Jim Toth approaches.

Almost a year after the "Big Little Lies" star and Toth called it quits after 12 years of marriage, sources claim Witherspoon is dipping her toes in the sands of the dating scene.

According to an insider, the film producer has already started going on dates. "Reese hasn’t been out on too many dates, but she's been set up with a few friends of friends," the source claimed.

The informant revealed that the two-time Golden Globe winner is "taking things very slowly" but feels very "excited" about the process of falling in love again. "In an ideal world, she’d love to meet someone special in 2024 and eventually settle down again," the source told US Weekly, before adding that "for now, there's no pressure" for Witherspoon.

As for how she feels as the first anniversary of her second divorce comes closer, another source told the outlet that the 47-year-old has a "very relaxed attitude" toward romance.

Recall that Witherspoon and Toth shocked the world with the news of their divorce in March 2023 with a statement released on social media that read:

"We have some personal news to share… It is with a great deal of care and consideration that we have made the difficult decision to divorce. We have enjoyed so many wonderful. Years together and are moving forward with deep love, kindness, and mutual respect for everything we have created together."

The joint note continued, "Our biggest priority is our son and our entire family as we navigate this next chapter. These matters are never easy and are extremely personal. We truly appreciate everyone’s respect for our family’s privacy at this time." Toth and Witherspoon welcomed their son, Tennessee James Toth, in 2012.

A month after the announcement, the "Legally Blonde" actress filed for a divorce, and five months later, both parties reached a settlement. Toth and Witherspoon had an iron-clad prenup so their assets were divided to the "mutual satisfaction" of both parties, with no spousal payment awarded to either party.

As for the custody of their 11-year-old son, the former lovers both share joint physical and legal custody but will not pay child support to either party.  The document stated they "acknowledge and agree that neither party should otherwise pay monthly child support to the other parent, as the parties are sharing equal parenting time and dividing all expenses for the minor child equally (50/50)."

While Witherspoon is still testing the waters of the dating scene, the same cannot be said of her ex-husband, Toth. Less than three months after the actress filed for divorce, Toth, a talent agent, was seen with a new flame on a lavish vacation.

Eyewitnesses claimed the co-head of motion picture talent at CAA was seen staying with a new girlfriend at the Sendero Nosara in Costa Rica. "They seemed to be staying in a suite, and they looked really happy, just chilling and soaking up that pura vida vibe. It was definitely romantic," the source claimed to People Magazine.

While the Aliquippa native was finding love again, Witherspoon was shutting down romantic rumors involving fellow actor Kevin Costner, who also divorced his ex-wife wife, Christine Baumgartner.

It happened that "Naughty but Nice" podcast host Rob Shuter put out a poll on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, asking if people would ship the two amid their divorces.

"POLL OF THE DAY: Kevin Costner is rumored to be romancing Reese Witherspoon. Do you love this new couple?" the tweet read. Soon enough, fans responded to the rumors with enthusiasm, rooting for the Hollywood icons to get together.

However, Witherspoon shut down the speculations swiftly through her rep. "This story is completely fabricated and not true," her rep confirmed.
