A former staff of the late Princess Diana has called out Prince Harry to steer clear of his sister-in-law, Kate Middleton, amid speculations that his wife, Meghan Markle, is set to pen her own tell-all memoir.

Harry had previously made remarks about Kate in the couple's Netflix documentary series, "Harry & Meghan," and his record-breaking memoir, "Spare."

In an interview with the New York Post, former royal butler Paul Burrell warned the Duke of Sussex to "lay off" making comments about his sister-in-law that could put her in a bad light.

Burrell pointed to the fact that Kate had issues with her  husband, Prince William, in the past as she navigated whether a "royal life was for her." However, he emphasized that she has since addressed and resolved those issues with the heir-apparent and has "committed herself to a life of public service."

Based on these changes, Burrell finds it odd that Harry seemed to fixate on these errors in past comments about the Princess of Wales despite how much of an "amazing job" she has been doing.

Burell said, "Harry has got a nerve to say that because his mother was pressured into an arranged marriage and made to fit the mold."

He continued, "Harry is not always the sharpest tool in the box, so he should lay off Kate and William. Kate is doing an amazing job."

Kate hasn't been the sole recipient of Prince Harry's commentary in the past. Other royal family members have also found themselves under his scrutiny, contrary to the monarchy's inclination to address family matters privately.

Now Burrell believes that the duke is digging a hole for himself and predicts that he "will come to regret" his comments in the future.

"He has to be careful about attacking the royal family," the former butler added about the 39-year-old. "Meghan and Harry have forgotten their only unique selling point is being royal, so why are they trying to destroy the institution? It doesn't make sense."

Burell also rubbished the reported efforts of the Sussexes to reunite with the royal family, saying that they would never be welcomed "with open arms" and that "the doors are firmly shut."

Still in the interview, Burrell discussed Meghan's rumored memoir, which has yet to be confirmed by the former actress.

The former butler believes it is "inevitable" that Meghan will tell her "her side of the story" as her absence from her husband's memoir had already hinted that the book would happen one day.

"I am waiting for Meghan to release her own memoir," Burrell said. "[She] is inevitably going to write her side of the story because of how absent she was from 'Spare,' and that is because she is penning her memoir and telling it from a woman's perspective."

He also went on to say that he anticipates quite an uproar from the royal family when the "Suits" alum confirms plans to publish, likening it to a "bomb in the House of Windsor."

Harry & Meghan Were Slammed For 'Consorting' With Controversial Jamaican PM

Recently, the Sussexes drew the ire of royal experts by "consorting" and "hobnobbing" with officials from Jamaica during a trip to the island nation. One of the officials they were seen cozying up to was Prime Minister Andrew Holness,  who has a well-known stance of wanting to separate the island nation from the Commonwealth.

According to royal commentator Andrew Pierce, the gesture from the Sussexes showed that they were "tone deaf" given the nature of the monarchy's relation with Jamaica.

Another commentator, Sarah Vince, claimed that the act from the duke and duchess could only be explained as a deliberate act to "troll" the royal family, especially in this critical period when two senior royals face health challenges.

"They are deliberately trolling the Royal Family…. I think their game plan is going to be self-hating Royals," Vince said, per the Daily Mail.
