Elmo just wanted to know how everyone off Sesame Street is doing and probably didn't expect the responses given.

While many left some humor in the comments, others answered honestly in a "trauma dumping" sort of way. But regardless of the vibe of the responses, the simple tweet opened a door for a mental health check and many appreciated the sentiment.

Elmo Took To X To Check In On His Friends

Elmo's short but sweet tweet asking how everyone's doing caught the attention of millions, receiving nearly 200 million views and tons of honest comments. Replies ranged from humorous to relatable and honest emotions and thoughts. Many brands even dropped in to leave their thoughts and share how they're currently feeling.

"Every morning, I cannot wait to go back to sleep. Every Monday, I cannot wait for Friday to come. Every single day and every single week for life," one person replied. Another added, "we started this year. STARTED IT. by trauma dumping so hard on elmo the official sesame street account had to tweet out mental health resources. god help us."

Some left comments such as "at my lowest," "suffering," not so great" and "no one is ok."

And then some well-known brands enterted the chat to try to save the mood with some humor.

Shake Shack wrote, "Some of these replies could benefit from a sweet treat." Firefox said, "We're out here, just browsin'." Google Play added, "Much better now, E."

Tons of other brands also left hilarious comments in an attempt to lighten the mood.

"not great. ppl are forgetting they can preorder wings before the big game," shared Popeyes. "Out here being judgement free like we're supposed to be," added Planet Fitness.

Elmo Shared A Follow Up Tweet After Seeing All The Responses

In pure happy-go-lucky Elmo fashion, the popular Sesame Street resident shared an update after reading all the responses to his check in.

"Wow! Elmo is glad he asked! Elmo learned that it is important to ask a friend how they are doing. Elmo will check in again soon, friends! Elmo loves you. #EmotionalWellBeing"

Elmo's follow up tweet received more than 66 million views so far and tons of comments thanking Elmo for checking in. Many even asked how he's doing.

"Thank you for listening, Elmo," shared XBox. Verizon added, "we're here if you ever need to call. or text." MTV took this opportunity to share some important information about supporting others and keeping in touch with people.

One X user pointed out the importance of "children's entertainment."

"It seems silly, but the fact that we all trauma dumped on Elmo yesterday, and that we all cried when Steve from Blues Clues told us he was proud of us during the pandy PROVES that children’s entertainment is so much more than 'entertainment,' and has a lasting effect on empathy."
