Gypsy Rose Blanchard is "reinventing" herself by chopping inches off of her hair and debuting a brand-new hairstyle.
As we reported, Gypsy Rose Blanchard-Anderson was released from prison in December 2023 after serving 85% of her 10-year sentence for pleading guilty to second-degree murder of her own mother. She is believed to be a victim of Munchausen by proxy, a physiological disorder that many believe her mom, Dee Dee Blanchard, had.
The 32-year-old is believed to have endured years of abuse, as her mom claimed she had many sicknesses and illnesses that were never medically confirmed.
Now, Gypsy Rose is trying to give back and help others after she went through years of abuse -- and one of those ways is by donating her hair to a charity that makes wigs for people who have had hair loss or are suffering from cancer.
"It’s never too late to start reinventing yourself, even if it is something subtle like a new hairstyle," Gypsy wrote alongside a selfie that showed off her new hairstyle. "To All the girls, boys, and non-binary…Enjoy life, and express yourself in whatever creative ways that make you happy. Life is too short to hide your beauty let the world see you shine."
She also shared a photo of a pair of scissors and a few inches of her hair that had been chopped off.

The 32-year-old then shared a follow-up video explaining why she made this decision.
“So what I’ve been wanting to do for a very long time is to donate my hair to a charity that makes wigs for people that have hair loss or that are going through cancer,” she said in the video, adding that she plans to send her hair to a charity called The Great Cut.
“I have had my own personal experience with hair loss not by means of health reasons but if you know my story you’re very familiar with those reasons why," she added.

As you know, Gypsy is believed to be a victim of Munchausen by proxy, which is a physiological disorder that investigators claim her mother, Dee Dee Blanchard, had.
Some of the medical diagnoses that Dee Dee claimed her daughter had included epilepsy, vision impairments, hearing impairments, and being paralyzed from the waist down — none of which Gypsy had. Those with Munchausen by proxy seek attention by using made-up symptoms or exaggerated symptoms of a child in their care.
Following her prison release, Gypsy Rose has been advocating for victims of Munchausen by proxy and of abuse. “I want to be a voice for the voiceless. I want to come out and tell people this is who I am, this is why I’m doing this,” she told Entertainment Tonight, adding, “It’s important to me. It’s close to my heart."
Dee Dee also claimed Gypsy had been diagnosed with cancer, which resulted in her shaving off Gypsy’s hair.
“For me, not having hair was really hard on my self-esteem. So, I just want to do something to help other people that are going through issues with hair loss because I know the only time that I ever felt beautiful is when I was wearing a wig,” Gypsy explained in the video as she showed viewers an old photo of her when she didn't have hair.
As you know, Gypsy Rose Blanchard-Anderson was released from prison last month after serving 85% of her 10-year sentence for pleading guilty to second-degree murder of her own mother.
