Donna Kelce Speaks On Jason Kelce's Retirement From The NFL

Donna Kelce is speaking out on what life could look like for Jason Kelce if he were to retire from the NFL at the end of this season.

Jason, who has played for the Philadelphia Eagles since 2011, has had many achievements throughout his career as he was selected to the NFL Pro Bowl seven times (including this year) and has gone on to win the Super Bowl with the Eagles in 2018.

With the Eagles getting eliminated from NFL playoffs in the first round, rumors began circulating that Jason will retire after this season. While he has yet to confirm this, his mom, Donna, is hinting at what Jason could do if he were to retire.

Donna Kelce, who is the mother of both NFL stars Jason and Travis Kelce, is speaking out regarding the possible retirements of her sons.

"[I] can't believe that they wouldn't be in the future involved with football in some capacity because they love it so much," she said regarding post-NFL life for her boys. "They love the people, and they love the coaches," she added.

Although Travis plays for the Kansas City Chiefsand Jason plays for the Philadelphia Eagles, the two remain very close as Donna said, "Everybody is very close even in different teams."

Football has been a part of their lives since childhood, having grown up in a "small community," Donna says Jason and Travis "just love the whole aspect about [football]," which is why she believes they will continue in this field after they retire from playing, whether that be a commentator, an analyst, or perhaps even becoming a coach.

Rumors have been circulating about Jason Kelce and the possibility of his retirement after the Philadelphia Eagles were knocked out of the NFL playoffs.

Jason himself addressed the rumors on his ‘New Heights’ podcast a few days later, stating:

“I just don’t think you’re in a position after a game like that to really, you know, make that decision. I just don’t. There’s too much emotion in the moment. There’s too much going down in the moment to really fully grasp that decision.

I’m not trying to be dramatic to continue to draw this thing out. I’m really not.”

As the world awaits to see what Jason's future holds, his mom says that "Anything they want to do, I truly believe they could do. I've seen it over and over again," she said when speaking to PEOPLE. "They are just very tenacious, very much, 'I'm going to see this through.' They just never give up. They just keep moving on."

Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs remain in the NFL playoffs as they are set to take on the Baltimore Ravens on Saturday. It is expected that Donna, Jason, his wife, Kylie, and Travis's girlfriend, Taylor Swift, all will be in attendance.
