Australian police have put out a notice that they are "investigating" as Margot Robbie was "robbed" of an Oscar nomination.

As you may know, the 'Barbie'actress was not nominated for Best Actress for her role in the hit film, but Ryan Gosling received a nomination for Best Supporting Actor for his role as Ken in the movie.

Many fans expressed their disappointment with the snub, including Gosling himself. And now, the Australian police say they are "investigating" the situation.

The Best Actress category in the Oscars is a very competitive category, but Robbie did not make the cut. Those who were nominated for Best Actress are:

  • Annette Bening for 'Nyad'
  • Lily Gladstone for 'Killers of the Flower Moon'
  • Sandra Hüller for 'Anatomy of a Fall'
  • Carey Mulligan for 'Maestro'
  • Emma Stone for 'Poor Things'

Australian police had some fun with the former resident's Oscar snub, as they took to social media to put out an "alert."

Following Robbie's snub, Gosling released a statement, stating he is "disappointed" his costar did not get nominated. He also noted Greta Gerwig's snub of Best Director. “To say that I'm disappointed that they are not nominated in their respective categories would be an understatement," Gosling said of Gerwig and Robbie.

While he is “extremely honored to be nominated,” he added there is, “no Ken without Barbie. And there is no Barbie movie without Greta Gerwig and Margot Robbie, the two people most responsible for this history-making, globally celebrated film."

He added, "No recognition would be possible for anyone on the film without their talent, grit, and genius. To say that I’m disappointed that they are not nominated in their respective categories would be an understatement.”

'Barbie' actress America Ferrera, who was nominated for Best Supporting Actress, also spoke out about the snubs Gerwig received, telling Variety, “Greta has done just about everything that a director could do to deserve it. Creating this world, and taking something that didn’t have inherent value to most people and making it a global phenomenon. It feels disappointing to not see her on that list.”

Ferrera then spoke on Margot Robbie's snub, stating, "One of the things about Margot as an actress is how easy she makes everything look. And perhaps people got fooled into thinking that the work seems easy."

She added, "But Margot is a magician as an actress in front of the screen, and it was one of the honors of my career to get to witness her pull off the amazing performance she did."
