Jamie Foxx's near-death experience is one he's putting behind him as he returns fully to action. The actor was recently seen in Atlanta on the set for his movie, "Back In Action," signaling his return to the big screen.

Foxx was hospitalized in April last year after coming down with a mysterious illness while filming "Back In Action" in Georgia. He made his first public appearance last December at the Critics Choice Association Event, where he was honored with the Vanguard Award.

According to a report, the "Django Unchained" star was seen out and about his schedule on Saturday on the set of "Back In Action." This marks the first time the actor is returning to acting since his hospitalization In April.

Foxx was seen in the company of his co-star, Cameron Diaz, as he got ready to shoot scenes for the movie. He sported a long-sleeved, black sweater and a pair of dark navy trousers and completed his casual look with white sneakers.

Diaz also kept it casual in a pair of fitted black pants and a plain white shirt worn over with a tan-colored cardigan. She left her blonde locks flowing freely and paired her outfit with white sneakers.

Photos obtained by the Daily Mail showed the pair walking side-by-side each other as they made their way down a sidewalk.

The Actor Was Honored With The Vanguard Award

Following the recovery from his mysterious illness and his return to the public eye, Foxx made his first public appearance at the Critics Choice Association‘s ceremony, which was held last December.

According to Variety, the actor was honored with a Vanguard Award for his role in Amazon Prime Video's "The Burial" and received the honor from his co-star in the movie, Jurnee Smollett.

Presenting the award to Foxx, Smollett called him a "true vanguard" and went on to praise him for his impact on many artists, noting he "inspired generations of artists like myself to be bold, audacious dreamers."

"Working with Jamie, I found a generous scene partner I can lean on and trust," Smollett noted. "Even though we were playing rivals battling it out in the courtroom, in him, I found a great cheerleader — one who, on our very first day shooting y'all he came, and right after the third take, he came up to me, he's like, 'Man, you are killing this role.' Now I don't think he understands what that kind of support means to someone like me who's watched him my entire life."

Strolling down the hall to receive the award from Smollett, Foxx was greeted with a standing ovation as he took the opportunity to share details about his health emergency and dispel rumors he was cloned.

At the time, details about the nature of his illness were kept under wraps, leading to widespread speculations and rumors the actor was being cloned. Foxx began his speech by revealing he "couldn't actually walk" but kept mute about what he exactly suffered.

"I'm not a clone, I'm not a clone. I know a lot of people who were saying I was cloned out there," he stated, adding that he "wouldn't wish what I went through on my worst enemy, because it's tough."

"I have a new respect for life. I have a new respect for my art. I watched so many movies and listened to so many songs, trying to have the time go by. Don't give up on your art, man, don't give up," the "Day Shift" actor added.

Jamie Foxx's Daughter Gets Engaged

The 56-year-old actor is preparing to become a father-in-law as his daughter, Corinne, recently got engaged to her boyfriend, Joe Hooten. Corinne shared on Instagram in December that Hooten proposed to her, and she accepted.

"From the first time I saw you, I knew you were my forever," she wrote in the caption of a series of black and white photographs from the proposal.

A photo from the carousel saw them smiling and embracing each other on the deck of a boat after the proposal, while another had Corinne kissing Hooten on the cheek. A third picture had her hugging him as she stared intently at the camera.

The proud father also shared a photo of his daughter and her soon-to-be-husband on his page, along with a lengthy tribute to the couple.
