According to court documents obtained by The Blast, Mai is requesting to investigate her estranged husband's finances after the rapper filed a motion to enforce their prenuptial agreement.
Mai believes she might not get a fair deal from their prenup, claiming she never got the chance to understand Jeezy's finances properly before heading to the altar.
Jeannie Mai Tells Court Not To Enforce Her Prenup
Former co-host of "The Real," Mai is demanding to see her estranged husband's finances as she pleads with a judge to put a pause on enforcing their prenuptial agreements.
Mai asserts that because the prenuptial procedure moved so quickly, she wasn't able to fully investigate the terms of the agreement. According to the TV personality, she and Jeezy began negotiating the prenup just five days before getting married.
The court document obtained by The Blast, reads in part, "Given the compressed timeframe, it was inherently challenging, if not impossible, for either party to engage in comprehensive due diligence. The result is an inability to fully comprehend, scrutinize, and verify the accuracy of the disclosed financial information, and casting doubt on the agreement's integrity."
It also states that although the prenup seems to meet all requirements, Mai "has significant reservations regarding [Jeezy's] financial disclosures, necessitating a thorough investigation" into his finances.
Jeannie Mai Claims She Was Blindsided By The Divorce
During a chat with Jennifer Hudson on her talk show, "The Jennifer Hudson Show," Mai opened up about how "broken" she was by her split from Jeezy, whom she married in 2021 during the pandemic in an intimate wedding at their home in Atlanta.
"I was going through things and the marriage ended in divorce and it was kind of hard. It's what I'm dealing with day by day you know," Mai stated, adding, "I think I'm doing better now."
The reality TV star noted that she was "gutted" by the news which she claims blindsided her, but emphasized that she's now working on herself and being present for her daughter.
Mai said, "At the time when I found out at the same time as the rest of the world that my marriage was ending in divorce, I was gutted. Today it's about picking up the pieces. It's about discovering me and being a mom to the best blessing in my life, my little girl."
She continued, "Even though this year, I met the most broken version of me, I also met the strongest version of me."
Further in her conversation with Hudson, Mai gushed about her daughter, saying that she's "everything" and is "just my whole world." She gleefully added, "Every parent can tell you that when you have a baby, you get a chance to be born again. This entire world has become a whole different place to me because of Monaco, so reliving my life and reparenting myself through this little girl has been the greatest gift of my life."
