Prince's Family Demands Lady Gaga’s Ex-Manager Be Removed from Estate

Prince’s family members are furious over his unreleased music being removed from his home without being told, and now they are demanding to drop a personal administrator that had a bad track record with Lady Gaga.

Sharon, Norrine and John Nelson filed docs to remove Comerica Bank & Trust as the personal administrator to Prince’s estate.

The heirs explain the company moved items from Prince’s vault of unreleased music from his Paisley Park mansion without informing them, and claim it violated the agreement they signed with the company. Comerica has denied doing anything wrong.

They claim the catalog issue isn’t their only beef with Comerica and say the company has already made numerous bad decisions over Prince’s estate, including hiring Spotify executive Troy Carter as an advisor.

The family points out he was fired by Lady Gaga in 2013 over her forthcoming album and creative control. He is currently the Global Head of Creator Services for Spotify, and the heirs claim Comerica did not disclose Carter's conflicts of interest due to his interest in Spotify's financial well-being and success. They also claim Carter's financial interest in acquiring Prince's music for Spotify would create conflicts in dealing with other streaming services for Prince's music.

The family basically wants to get the most bang for their buck with Prince's music, and don't want one streaming service to get favoritism over another.

The court has yet to rule on their request.
