Suzanne Somers passed away on October 15, 2023, one day before her 77th birthday, in Palm Springs, California.
Now, her husband, Alan Hamel, has remarked on the unusual occurrences within the home they once lived in together. He also disclosed that he still feels her presence whenever he lies on their bed.
Suzanne Somers' Husband Alan Hamel Says 'I Feel Her Presence' Since Her Death
It appears Somers is not done spending quality time with her husband even though they "rarely spent an hour apart in 55 years together." According to Hamel, three "very strange" things happened on the same day that led him to believe that his wife was still present in their home.
As he shared, the experiences began when "a hummingbird flew" into their home, moving through "the kitchen, living room, and dining room." The bird subsequently "hovered" before a framed picture depicting Hamel and Somers in their breakfast nook, and it even "landed on top and stayed there."
Subsequently, "the fireplace started all by itself," and "some music played by Suzanne's favorite composer." That action was particularly peculiar to Hamel because "no one's ever heard of this guy," alluding to the obscure maestro.
Additionally, the 87-year-old disclosed that he feels Somers "laying beside me" whenever he is on the verge of falling asleep. Putting all these details together, the Canadian entertainer disclosed to PageSix:
"I'm a believer now that there is an after life. I'm convinced of it… I think there's something we don't understand. I think there's a plane somewhere… after we discard our bodies. We still have our soul. I think our soul is energy. The soul must go somewhere and do something."
He added that since Somers' death, he has experienced time "when I'm with my family... and I have one of my moments when I have to leave, I go into the bedroom... I'm alone there. And I feel her presence. Once I interact with her presence, I go back and interact with the family."
After noting that the "Three's Company" actress' grandchildren divulged having similar episodes with her, Hamel stated, "I hope it's all true. It certainly makes the grieving process a lot easier. If it is, we'll be reunited."
Hamel & Somers Immersed Themselves In Nature One Last Time Before Her Death
Hamel's candid revelations come nearly two months after he detailed some of his fondest memories with Somers. One such memory was the couple establishing an "early morning routine" that involved Somers' signature footwear, a pair of Timberland boots.
Thanks to their living alongside the California mountains in Malibu and Palm Springs, a component of their routine always included "hiking to the top of one of the mountains," where there was a creek and a sizable flat rock situated in the middle of the creek.
Hamel mentioned that upon reaching their destination, which took around two hours, "the rock had been warmed by the morning sun." He went on to share that he and Somers have lunch "on the rock and then take a one-hour nap on the rock and then hike back down and go to work."
With such a cherished memory, it made sense that Hamel chose to lay the "Keeping Secrets" author to rest with Timberlands. Reflecting on this, he expressed:
"Suzanne never really had boots designed for hiking on the rocks, so I ordered the Timberland boots. [I] made my gift personal by drawing on them in a few words that represented our life to some degree and made them very personal to Suzanne."
Providing more insight, the television host noted that Somers owned "every Manolo Blahnik ever made." However, he believed it would be "predictable but not very personal" for her final journey.
Additionally, the co-host of "Vacation Time" recalled Somers telling him, "'I am wearing you, and my boots will keep me safe,'" whenever she wore the Timberlands.
Hamel previously disclosed that he and Somers shared a "passionate and beautiful last kiss" and undertook a road trip from Illinois to California. This journey, traversing Utah and Nevada, brought excitement to Somers, who cherished immersing herself in nature.
