At a recent press conference, Kansas City Chiefs player Travis Kelce was asked if he plans to stop playing football anytime soon.
Travis, who attended the University of Cincinnati, was drafted into the NFL in 2013 during the third round.
Now that the tight end has spent ten years playing football professionally, many are wondering if his time will soon be up so that he can focus on other things (we're looking at you, Taylor.)
As you may know, Travis Kelce began dating Taylor Swift last summer, but it wasn't until September that the two decided to go public. The pop icon attended a Chiefs game, which confirmed the rumors that had been circulating for weeks.
Travis and Taylor have been together ever since, with new rumors circulating that the pair may even get engaged this summer.
With these seemingly big plans in Travis's future, many have been wondering if he plans on retiring after this season.
Will Travis Kelce Retired From The NFL?
Retirement rumors have been surrounding Travis Kelce as he previously hinted at what life could hold for him after football, but he is putting an end to it all, claiming he has "no reason to stop playing football".
"Man, I love it, we still have success, come in with the right mindset," he said of the game during a recent press conference. "I just love the challenge that it gives me every single day to try and be my best."
The Chiefs tight end is coming off his worst statistical season since 2015, but he is not letting that stop him from continuing his time in the NFL.
"I have no desire to stop anytime soon," he added.
Travis Kelce On Life After The NFL
Whenever that time does come, Travis Kelce admits he will continue to explore other hobbies outside the sports world.
"That's the point of the off-season," the NFL player explained of trying out new activities and hobbies. "Being able to get out there and really find what you love to do, and I've been fortunate to do a few things outside of the sports world that I've been enjoying doing, like getting on camera."
One of the highlights Travis has enjoyed was his time on 'Saturday Night Live'.
"The 'SNL' stuff kinda opened up a new happiness and maybe a new career path for me, but it's funny for me to even say that at this point in my career because it's so much further down the road than it is right now," he added.
The NFL player has also starred in many ads and commercials for Pfizer and State Farm. In fact, Travis Kelce has appeared in more commercials during NFL games this season than any other celebrity. According to reports, he has appeared in 375 commercials that aired through December 11, 2023.
These latest comments come after Travis's management team -- André and Aaron Eanes -- expressed they planned to make him become "world-famous".
"We positioned Travis to be world-famous," André told the New York Times. "We didn't know how it would happen, or when it would happen, or what would help push that further along. But it's always been the thought in the back of our minds."
In the meantime, Travis Kelce's focus is on the NFL playoffs, as he and the Chiefs will face the Miami Dolphins on Saturday in the wildcard round.
