'Narcos' And 'X-Men' Star Adan Canto Cause Of Death Revealed

Adan Canto, who is known for his role in FOX’s series 'The Cleaning Lady,' passed away on Monday, January 8. He was 42.
The late actor is also known for his roles in 'X-Men: Days of Future Past', 'Designated Survivor', and Netflix’s 'Narcos'.
“We are heartbroken to learn of the passing of Adan Canto. A wonderful actor and dear friend, we were honored to have him as part of the Warner Bros. Television and Fox Entertainment families since his U.S. debut in 'The Following' more than a decade ago,” Warner Bros. Television and Fox Entertainment said in a joint statement.
Canto made his American acting debut in 2013 when he starred alongside Kevin Bacon in the FOX crime thriller series 'The Following.' He went on to star in popular shows such as 'The Cleaning Lady' and "Narcos'.
The production networks added, “Most recently, he lit up the screen in ‘The Cleaning Lady’ with a powerful performance that showcased his artistry, range, depth and vulnerability."
A rep has confirmed that Canto passed away after a private battle with appendiceal cancer, which is a type of cancer that grows from cells inside of the appendix, a small pouch of tissue in the abdomen.

“Adan had a depth of spirit that few truly knew. Those who glimpsed it were changed forever," his rep said of the late actor. "He leaves behind his wife, best friend, and creative partner Stephanie Ann Canto as well as his two greatest works of art, Roman Alder, three-and-a-half years of age, and Eve Josephine, one-and-a-half years of age. He will be greatly missed by so many.”
Canto could not film for FOX's 'The Cleaning Lady' when production on season three began in December due to his diagnosis, but he was expected to rejoin his co-stars and cast members later in the season.
The hit series reportedly plans to pay tribute to Canto with a memorial card during the Season 3 premiere, which will air on Tuesday, March 5 on FOX, per Deadline.
Warner Bros. Television and Fox Entertainment added, "This is an unfathomable loss, and we grieve alongside his wife Stephanie, their children, and loved ones. We will miss Adan dearly.”

Many media networks and fans took to social media to pay tribute to the late actor, with FOX being one of the first to release a statement.
"He'll always be our Arman. ❤️ Adan Canto, your memory will be cherished forever," FOX wrote alongside a photo of the actor. "We grieve alongside Adan's family, friends, and fans."

Adan Canto is survived by his wife, Stephanie Ann Canto, and two children, Roman Alder and Eve Josephine.
